Still kicking here . Dog is a bit more stable but obviously blind in one eye now. We are coping . Snow here last 2 days . What a mess!
The soap today is another adventure in adding to the pot. Put the rest of the Island Hopper into the Stirling 3 blend and let them get acquainted . Good stuff.

  4. It's always a tough balance between not being burned again and letting people learn from past mistakes and improve. I'm too new on this scene to know the history. I do know humans are programmed to remember negative emotions and the experiences that created them. It's almost impossible to rebuild a reputation because it takes a long history of positive experiences to offset negative impressions. There's a lesson in this somewhere.

  8. Yes and no for me, Joseph. I enjoy the scent of the soap as I shave, although I do enjoy the scent to match somewhat as well. The post shave is what is with you the longest thou, no question.

  11. Very nice shave, Jeff. Interested to hear how the shorter handle does.
Sorry to hear you don’t love the Heritage, Evan. Interesting that you stripped it. It is pig metal, is it not?
Sorry to hear about the back, Ken. Get well soon.
A colour photo! And a beaut, Daniel.
Love the Red Tip and love the underrated Autumn Glory as well, Andrew.
Another Autumn Glory post! Love it.The MonoBilt isn’t too shabby either...
    Very cool, Neal!
Sorry to hear about your dog, Patrick. We got the snow today as well. Messy, too.

  13. I didn't dislike it. Boring as in no cuts or irritation. It doesn't compare to the NEW LC or the RedTip for me. It was fine but I like more aggressive razors. I really didn't intend for that review to sound negative. It's a keeper for a guy who has 50 something razors.

Yes, the head is zamak. I just stripped the Chrome. The plating is quality and the nickel is thick enough. It just looks better in nickel.

  14. NASA has weighed in on the meteor last night. According to their data it was about the size of a basketball. Washington University in St. Louis physicists are saying it was perhaps as big as 5 feet. Not sure why the two sources are giving such different measurements, but we can say it was no bigger than 5 feet. It was accompanied by a pretty loud sonic boom. There are probably pieces of it somewhere in Central Missouri. Good luck finding them.

Now, when it comes to meteors, that isn't bad. Great bright flash, streaking fireball, big boom. However, what if we had one that was, oh say, 59 feet across? What would that be like? Oh wait......there was one that size in 2013 only not in STL, the Western HQ of the Russian Blade Cartel. Nope, that one was in the Motherland, near Chelyabinsk, where I source a lot of blades from. For those interested in the difference in effect.......here you go.

  16. Thanks Terry, i do it just to prove that a higher amount of shaves per blade is possible with the right blade and soap, as well as the right technique. I have a thickish growth and this blade has lost a lot of sharpness but it isnt tugging uncomfortably yet, so it definitely is possible. Hopefully in the next week ill post my first YouTube shave video.
