so does the code compel the computer to procure coffee for the user or for itself? If it's getting coffee for itself that's a sure sign of Intelligence of the first order.

Oh, I managed to nick my nose this morning. The boy kept me up half the night with night terrors and then woke up at 0dark30 fully awake and wanting to play. I was not alert and should not have been shaving. I missed my cheek and gave myself a nice nick on my left nostril. First time I've ever done that.

I did find out that the Lord 3 piece razors are decent shavers. Too mild for my tastes, but would make a good first razor for a noob. Speaking of which, I'm thinking I should see about changing my user name. I'm not a noob anymore.

Finally got around to shaving and all this morning. I have a cruddy week and not many great shaves with some irritation in the neck area. So I didn't shave at all yesterday and then went at it with a Rolls Razor and two day growth. After 3 passes it was OK but I wanted a little closer so I grabbed the loaded Merkur open comb slant to do a clean up pass. After two swiped I thought I heard a bit of jingle in the razor and stopped to inspect. D'oH! I never tightened it up. But I wanted a close shave... open comb, slant, and loose blade.... no blood but a very very close shave and man did that A/S burn!

[rant] I am irritated with my local usps. Here's why:

I ordered some books from Amazon 11 days ago and chose the free shipping. It took them forever to ship the order, and then it took forever getting here. So apparently it finally arrives and they try to deliver it- but the church office is closed (the books are for work) so they take the package back to the local post office. Amazon send me an email that says they're holding the package at the local office. The post office local to my place of work is a twenty minute drive. Not normally a problem, but today I'm watching my son and we just got back from the zoo when I got this email.

Anyway, I really want those books so I check the usps website and see that the post office holding my package is open to noon. I pack my son into the car again and drive off. We get there at 1130. The post office is lobby closed. A printed note on the door says that Saturday hours ended at this location on October 2008 and that the usps apologizes for any inconvenience.

A note below that says there is a pickup service at a side door from 9 to noon. It is now 1135. I find the side door and it is locked. A note tells me to knock or ring bell for service. There is no bell. No one comes after knocking for 5 minutes.

Why do they even bother? Just change the freaking hours on the website and be done with it! Grrr... Freaking bureaucracy that grants government monopolies. :mad: [/rant]

So how was the zoo?

 

I loved my Amazon Prime free trial period. Stuff arrived super-quick as you found out. I don't order from them enough for it to be worth $75 a year or whatever the cost is, but it was nice while it lasted.

Howdy kids. Happy Saturday. Kids are playing in the pool, sun is shining, dog is napping, and I'm headed out the door to work. rrr At least I have tomorrow off. Trying to get the house in order for the big move. I'm not looking forward to that at all. Moving sucks. End result is good; process blows.

 

Afternoon folks.

Got a nice score thanks to my being awake at the right time. Guy on a local Linux mailing list is moving, and has a bunch of hardware he didn't want to take with him to the new place. I got a Dell Latitude CPx notebook, a PC tower with an ABIT mobo, Athlon XP, etc (but no hard drives), and a Radio Shack shortwave radio for the grand total of... nothing.

The notebook is confirmed working. Just needs XP updated if I choose. The tower's gonna be a Hackintosh if I can score the hard drives. For now I just need to go grab an extra network cable to hook up the notebook (no wireless).

Well almost made it to 6000. Time for me to ride out of here.
