THURSDAY'S SHAVE Shampoo - Paul Mitchell (Tea Tree) Lavender Mint Bath Soap - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Clubguy" Razor - Gillette Heritage Inspired Blade - Gillette Platinum *Fresh Blade (No, I didn't use the blade from the pack that came with the razor, that's being kept with the case.) Shave Brush - Everyman Jack Synthetic Lather Bowl by Freida of the Etsy shop ASfreidaturns Preshave Oil - Lather & Wood's "Unscented" Shave Soap - The Gentleman's Groom Room Limited Edition Essence of Scotland "Malt & Myrtle" Deodorant - Pinaud Clubman *dusting powder Fragrance/Aftershave - Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve Just got this razor. This is my ad-hock shave for this first run. I really wanted to use the Special Reserve scent and the Essence of Scotland "Malt & Myrtle" (which I wish deeply that it can one day have a matching splash) duo. Can't wait until the morning to run with this setup. I am going to keep the set intact and stored for longevity. The original blade pack has not been opened and will remain so in the case as a collectable (I happened to already have an opened pack of Platinum blades). But I will use the hell out of that razor. This will be a fun shave. For those wondering......No, I haven't moved my Pinaud Special Reserve aftershave to a glass bottle yet, but I will in the coming week or so. *Sorry, kept saying Silver Blue blades when I meant Platinum. Corrected it. ***EDIT - 2 pass + extensive clean up. BBS. Very mild shave. Comparable to the Merkur 1904 razor. No aggression whatsoever. Once this blade is finished I will use a Feather in this razor in the future. The razor covers and holds the blade so tight and the mass of the razor is such that I didn't get any audible feekback on my shave. I could 'barely' hear any cutting, but it was definitely cutting hair. So, bear these in mind if you are considering buying this razor. It's a nice 'show' razor, and a fine shaver, but it's not quite as much fun to use as others. Aside from the lack of audible feedback, this would be an excellent beginner's razor. Not much of a chance for mistakes because of the mildness of the shave.
