Yeah, I caught the Jesus reference. And kind of figured it was a statement of why to have faith and trust in the Lord, but just thought there may have been a bit more.

    Ok, thanks.

    Night, Pam!

I can walk on water. Was just doing it as I vainly attempted to vacuum up 75 million gallons of it, that is soaking my basement.

Morning Corey. If the economy wasn't so lousy I should only have 3 off, but I do enjoy the time off. Lets me get things done around the house. ;)

Good morning! I'm happy with my hours. I think if I wanted, I could get more hours, though I'd be bumping up against overtime with anything more (two 12 hour shifts and an 8 or 12 depending on who calls out). I get all the money I need to cover bills, pay for razors and stupid piddly crap. It's the closest I can come to being a complete lazy bum without actually being a complete lazy bum. And the bonus is the pretty nurses and medics I work with. Can't ask for too much more. :happy102

Thats right, I remember now, you work in an E.R. How goes the Swine Flu scare?

Thankfully, the general panic has passed since the piles of bodies filling the streets that the news promised never panned out and we're back to a pretty normal flow of patients. Of the massive amounts of people who poured in claiming to have flu like symptoms, none actually had Swine Flu. Just like Bird Flu, West Nile, and SARS, the reality of the situation was blown WAAAAAAAAYYYYY outta proportion and this panned out to be statistically insignificant. Color me surprised. Sometimes I wish people would just stop watching the news.

Whatever happened to just reporting the news? Eh, never mind, I'm trying to relax so I can get some good sleep. No need to get worked up.

I've got this theory that I've been passively observing that I will finally share (lucky you!):

Once upon a time this country was the pinnacle of awesome throughout the world. There wasn't any questioning it, just either a general acceptance or a begrudging understanding across the globe. Then in the '80s we started turning into p*ssies. We let the stupid stuff become more important. And now people wonder what happened to lead us to a politically correct, me centered, self absorbed general mess. I've found the answer. On November 7th, 1980, Steve McQueen died. When he passed, he took the metric assload of extreme cool with him to the grave. When he lived, there was no doubt in the world that he was the King of Cool. He was the living embodiment of what being cool was, and without him to set the example, things just fell apart. With that massive void, there was a rush to replace that power, but it fell short. It's why we had all those cool ass brain dead action movies with Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Van Damme, and Segal. There was no single person to fill the void, so they just shoveled in people who were of lesser quality. Don't get me wrong, I still watch 80's Schwarzenegger movies and love the hell out of them. Commando, Predator, Running Man, and Predator are the foundation of great frigging over the top fun, but it doesn't make up for the loss of McQueen. It's like trying to do a blood transfusion in a human with pigs blood. In theory, it might be a temporary fix, but in the long run, it's not a permanent deal. Where the news ties in to all this, to bring this all full circle, is that we collectively live in fear, and that's what people want now. They want to be afraid, and the news fills that void. If McQueen were still alive, people wouldn't take that sh*t.

So that's my theory. People are weak idiots because Steve McQueen died. And I'm dead serious.

+1.... it's way too easy to get all worked up listening to the news nowadays..... it's all sensationalism designed to NOT report the facts, but the networks' agenda, AND even more importantly - selling ad time.... more viewers = more $$$ :D
