    Friday morning:

    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/7 AM day 6
    Gilly’s Nature Boy SS
    Nip Man ASB
    Aqua Velva Sport AS Splash

South African quality at its finest - this Nature Boy soap from Gilly’s has it all. A beautiful spearmint scent, fantastic lather, lots of slickness for great blade glide, and such a comfortable, soothing postshave feeling thanks to the chamomile in it. This Nip Man balm from the UK also smells very nice and it gives a good cooling sensation along with lots of moisturizing. The Aqua Velva Sport shot its way up to being a top favorite in my aftershave rotation. The 7 AM blade is starting to dull out a little but it still gave me a terrific BBS shave!

Wishing you all a good weekend![IMG]

Rain and wind, tonight: who knows if next week we'll be back at 26 ° C?
I noticed with enthusiasm that the bombing of Christmas advertising has begun: try to start being good fro now, because, all at once, it's hard!

I didn't want any particular soap: the day was too wishy-washy to push me towards a particular fragrance, so I dusted a good soap with an almost imperceptible scent.

Apart from the actual amount of shea butter present, I share the soaps socratically in 'Like' and 'Don't like' regardless of the alchemies that compose them. Usually, I prefer those with tallow, but many of my favorites are not.
This soap has a suitably compact lather and a lubricating effect that does not disappear after rinsing.

And once again I understood the success of twin-blades razors: impeccable shaving, but not so deep as to have too short a growth tomorrow.
But it deprives me of the pleasure of handling old stuff (keep any stupid and vulgar suggestion for yourself!), wasting time loading the blade, etc. but the purpose of shaving was perfectly achieved!

Friday shave - and back to my Stirling samples! What an intriguing shave this was too - totally slick and protective lather as I always get from Stirling, but the scent... oh my the scent. My reaction to this one is gut-level visceral - it brings me immediately back to my youth, growing up in rural Washington state. While the soap and aftershave I used today are called "Texas on Fire", what I sensed right away was a combination of my own home, which we largely heated by a wood stove, and camping, which we often did in cedar and alder forests in and around the Cascade mountains. I really am transported back to the wood stove with cedar stacked beside it, and a warm fire burning within - and the same smells would linger after a campfire out in the woods. The birch tar, too, which is in this soap, definitely is reminiscent of the smell of alder sap...which makes sense, since alder is a tree in the birch family. At any rate, all of it together makes for a very special scent - and no doubt a unique addition to your den! The scent really is out of this world for me personally - but even without having the personal olfactory connections I do, I'd highly recommend that you at least try a sample of this wonderful soap and aftershave!

Started with the Segal Adjustable. While the older Segal's have been great, I've never enjoyed shaves with the Adjustable with its ultra flimsy Zamak and Techish geometry. True to form, lots of chatter this morning (Wilkinson), didn't want to finish with it so switched to the Cooper three piece, which has its own issues with blade distortion but usually works out well. Finished up fine
