Thanks, Terry. I sang opera professionally for over 30 years. My wife's mother was a fairly renown female opera conductor. Her grandfather was a very famous opera singer, who sang with Caruso, Ruffo, Schipa, Toscanini and many more. It's in our blood.

Thanks Clint. I've re-set the knot a couple of times. It stays in place for awhile and then comes out. This time the opening is going to get a thorough cleaning beforehand.
Thanks Joseph. Yes, my first impression is that the Old Type is more aggressive than my R41 (2013). It's a very nice shaver.

Thanks for the well wishes for my Bride. She starts her second cycle of chemo this week, and she is doing amazingly well.
Thanks Gary. I find myself coming back to the Taylor of Old Bond Street shave creams. It has earned a spot in my top 5.
Thanks Terry. All is well here. We have been doing some research to get ready for our trip to Mayo. Our doc is fairly well known, so we've even been able to watch some of his educational videos. I suspect we'll be going back up there sometime early next year for a few weeks if my Bride is a candidate for a bone marrow transplant. That would be a best-case scenario. We'll know for sure here pretty soon.

I'm getting a new set of tires for the Wagon Queen Family Truckster this week in case of a possible road trip. @MrEE, can I get your Son to give the brakes a once-over? Very cool video of him in action. :) 1.jpg

I'm praying things go right for you two.
    Keep the faith, stay strong!

    Oh, the wagon.....
    I'd rent a car!
    Just saying.

I have coveted them for a while but would never spend for one. If you can find one inexpensively, then yes grab it. They seem to pop up on ebay uk fairly regularly for substantially less than in the states but you just need someone that is willing to ship internationally. I got a pretty good price on mine where I feel I could recoup it if I decided to sell. I really need to spend a few months with the razor before developing an opinion. It is a nice looking razor that has potential to shave well. With my current skill set, I am getting better shaves with the ClogPruf. Not really a fair comparison as I have spent months on end using it.

Thanks very much, Terry. Prayers are always appreciated, and they do make a difference. We are both very upbeat and hopeful.

I've got decent wheels for the trip up there next year. We'll need a car if we're there for a few weeks. Sometimes a man just needs to go out in search of ice cream. We've already decided to go check out the Mall of America at some point if Kathy feels up to it.

However, we're flying up for the second opinion in December. It will be a short trip, and it just makes things easier in case we're dealing with winter storms. Shuttles run between the Rochester airport, all the local hotels, and the Mayo Clinic. We even have a deal with some friends here in town...we haul them back and forth to the airport anytime they need it, and they do the same for us. So we literally have curb service from our front door to the Mayo Clinic. Our friends will even stop for ice cream upon request. :)

I'm not sure what ice cream has to do with the Mayo Clinic, but I think they have some researchers working on it.

Praying for some good news on your trip, Charlie.

A little advice for a southern boy in Minnesota: don't go outside with wet hair in the morning. I interviewed in Rochester while in college with IBM up there. I was offered a nice job, but the frozen hair in the morning made me rethink things.

So glad to hear Kathy is doing well with the chemo, Charlie. I'm hoping for the very best.

Thanks Jim. I appreciate the prayers.

I appreciate the hair styling advice. We're anticipating some humdinger weather. My Bride gets cold anytime the temps drop below 70 degrees, so we are planning accordingly.

I did find out that Mayo has ice cream research underway. If I get some time, I'm gonna see if they'll let me participate in a clinical trial. :)

Thanks again, Jim. The prayers mean a lot to us.

Hmm, I thought the research revolved around using ambient air temps to make ice cream, thus leaving a smaller carbon footprint from the production of said ice cream.
