I have the current version of OS and vintage, and while they have a similar scent, the are definitely different. The current version definitely has a more synthetic smell to it, but this in and if itself isn't the bad part for me. There is a bitterness, almost burnt smell to it I do not enjoy. Vintage OS has a bit of softness to it the current version does not have, at least to my nose. With the little extra boost of powder, Cold Spices is even a tad softer in scent, once again to my nose. Perhaps @Tim Spencer could comment as he is probably much better than I am.
11/18/2019 - Menthol Monday RazoRock 400 Noir Plissoft Synthetic Shaving Brush Timeless Shaving Bowl Fine Accoutrements – Snake Bite Above the Tie – Calypso, R2 Plate Astra SP Blade Nivea Post Balm Soap Commander – Honor Aftershave Splash - Mentholated Another great shave is in the bag this morning. The Fine soap was slick as a greased catfish belly this morning. Oh yeah…. that slick! The all-aluminum ATT razor is just a joy to use and brought the baby to Alabama. It takes a little while to get used to the weight but I really enjoy it. It just drives and handles like a dream. The alum was just noticeable. Perry @PLAla had doctored the aftershave splash with menthol so it was menthol all the way around this morning. I hope everyone’s shave is this great today. Take care!

Keep an eye out and with some luck and patience you could find a deal on one. Honestly, get yourself a ClogPruf for $10 and enjoy some of the best shaves available.
Thank you Jim. I actually had the time yesterday to take the photos for the week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Today's shave began with the "cling-clang" sound of brush(Stoylin) against mug, which just can't be avoided with the Burma Shave cake soap&mug. But the noisy loading action resulted in an excellent shave of 2 passes. The suds are forming at a strong rate by now, to the point that it is almost better to scrape the sides of the mug to get good lather, than to go right at the soap. Finished off with a good dose of the Clubman Reserve Whiskey Woods aftershave.
First shave with my recently acquired Gillette New Shortcomb (yesterday). Cleaned and sanitized, the razor delivered a smooth DFS to both face and dome with a first-time new blade. Great shave, with a wonderful razor. The jury is out as to whether I prefer this razor to my silver plated Gillette New Standard. The blade is sharp and smooth, and reminds me of my Kai blades. I’ll have to try them in the AS-D2 to see if they perform as well in that razor. In any case, this razor is currently going into the rotation. I feel clean, smooth and refreshed. RAZOR: Gillette New Short-comb BLADE: Suneko SS PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a face and noggin scrub with PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Pre-shave Soap BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with MWF followed by Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel and finished with Fine Snake Bite AS Splash
