NOvember MWF~~Rubberset~~Cooper Monobilt~~Small Batch Shave Tonic I am hopelessly behind in posts and therefore apologize for not responding to everyone individually. Second shave with the newly-acquired Monobilt. I do have some initial thoughts... @jtspartan First of all, I don't think the closing of the cap is equal across the top. You can only tighten these razors down so far. That cannot lead to an even approximation on the skin. There is a lot of blade feel, mos def© The Polsilver is a very sharp blade. I can't say it's smooth, because the quasi-harshness could be from the razor. Lots to think about... Not sure if I am completely sold on the Cooper.
fantastic pic Joseph.check out the cooper thread.there are some tips and stuff there that maybe creating an issue.
Thanks, Gary! I like them! They’re sharp and smooth in the three razors I’ve used them in. And for the price, you can’t go wrong, with the proviso YMMV.
Thank you, Terry! Thank you, Gary! Beautiful! Alabama awesome, Danny! Thank you, Joe! Great shave, Jeff! Sounds like the Cube goes fast. I've been using a bar of Stirling Preshave soap with every shave since May of last year. Not much of it left but it's still going.
Thank you Jim. I am with you Jim Coffee is a requirement. Thank you Gary. Thank you Perry. I love this brush. Thank you Ken. SDM is a really good soap. It is on my "repurchase list" Thank you Joe.
Nov 20th No Repeat Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable (I3) on 9 Blade: Gillette 7O'clock Yellow (1) Brush: Parker Silvertip Faux Horn PS: Proraso SS: MLS Reunion AS: Axe Peace Probably shouldn't have turned the slim up to 11 with the 7O'Clock. Very close BBS 3 pass shave with some irritation on my chin and cheek. ATG is what did it to me. I think the alum will tame it so it doesn't show. Only 3.5 hours of sleep last night. Client in Europe hit a problem no one knew how to fix. Finally fixed it about 45 min before it was time to start my day.
Love it Mark. Great looking shave Danny. Could have been excellent if you'd left the Clubman alone Excellent shave and lineup Jeff. Beautiful photo and post Joseph. I hope you get the razor sorted.
Nov 20th Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements PS - Tube 2.0 Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements SS - Et Tu (Brut clone) Heritage Collection - Klenzo - 26mm HMW Heritage 'Gel' Tip Drew Dick 7/8 Damascus Steel - Green Kirinite Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements ASB - Mysterium Serum Fabergé - Brut EdC (Original) Fun shave this morning! PAA's clone of Brut, Et Tu was up. Supreme slick lather, nice and fragrant. Shave soap was entirely bowl lathered, squeezed out of the brush, then hand applied (still not a fan of this knot, probably my last use before a transplant). Nice 3 pass shave, DFS+ as the lower neck is finally coming round for a little more blade pressure and buffing. Finished with a light application of PAA's Mysterium Serum, and a small dose of Fabergé's Brut. This is original Fabergé formula, not the newer Idelle Labs formula. Got it off the 'Bay from an estate sale (supposedly). It included the really nice 2 piece hard plastic display case, and is a 3.0 ounce bottle with the metal emblem and chain. It came with 1.5 ounces left. You can tell there's a difference between PAA's Et Tu and the original...... first, appearance is different, PAA's AS/Cologne version is clear, the Fabergé is light amber. Scent wise, the PAA smells slightly cleaner, but they are really close. Dry down...still very close. Comparing to Idelle Labs Brut reformulation (both PAA Et Tu AS/C and Fabergé Brut EdC)....the Idelle Labs version is slightly more sweet/fruity to me. All three are nice, but I'm preferring the PAA and Fabergé versions. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!
