Mmm, not sure what went askew today but the shave, although effective, was not comfortable. Have to ponder this a bit. Now go enjoy your day folks.

SOTD, 20 November 2019, and brief review

The last of my Stirling samples is here - and today's shave is their Sandalwood. I will dispense with the glowing review of the lathering process and the lovely lather that's produced by these fine soaps; you've heard me and others go overboard to praise the performance, and this sample fell right in line with all the other Stirling products I've used.

The scent profile of this Sandalwood is quite different than most Sandalwoods I've used - it's apparently a Hawaiian Sandalwood oil that is used in this product, and is a lot sweeter smelling than the norm. It's a very pure scent - not cologne-like, like for instance Taylor of Old Bond Street's Sandalwood (which I quite like) or the dryer, woodier and spicier D.R. Harris. In some ways it reminds me of Cyril Salter's Indian Sandalwood, which is also pleasant in its relative simplicity.
Pre-shave: Hot shower and towel, and Pacific Shaving Company Bamboo Pre-shave Scrub

    Razor: Merkur 34C HD
    Blade: Voskhod (#2)
    Brush: Omega Pro 49
Bowl: Fine Accoutrements Ceramic Lather Bowl
    Soap: Stirling Sandalwood
    Aftershave: Stirling Sandalwood Splash

I will be getting into some Bvlgari Man in Black soon when it gets a bit colder. I really love to pair PAA's Sangre de Drago with Man in Black.
