Having used a Twin Blade yesterday I could hardly expect to match the finish with a single blade. However, since discovering that The Personna works well with a Personna blade, I am getting very enjoyable Shaves with a real excellent close all round finish. no longer regret putting this formerly NOS Razor into action.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #313 Badger Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the Schick 66 G-4 razor with a Personna blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Cella After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

SOTD Nov 20-2019, (1st shave with the Oneblade)This shave turned out to be a interesting one, bought one of those Oneblade core single edge razors on sale. Now that is a interesting razor and it seemed to perform well with the floating blade, results were in my sweet spot range. I did do a 3 pass shave (WTG,XTG, ATG with a clean up) with results being stellar. Nice razor with the feather blades.

Razor: Oneblade Core
Blade : Feather FHS-10 (1)
Soap: Razorock "The Dead Sea"
Preshave: Brush wash the face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of Aloe Vera gel.
Post shave : Fine fresh Vetiver with witch hazel
Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + minor irritation + 1 blemish weeper = Great shave

Ridiculously good shave tonight. I had a 12 day old beard and I usually rely on my Nordic Beauty - a CV Heljestrand wedge razor for this job. Tonight while looking for it one of my Schick Fs raised it’s hand and said, “pick me, pick me!” (Really, and no acid was involved...) Long story short, it was a great choice. Easy peasy, quick, super close, and no drama.

Schick Type L1, Schick Proline B-20, shave 4


Finally got around to using this razor and I have to say I am surprised by just the amount of variation there is in the Type L razors. I've used a L1, L2, L8 and L9 and all are different shavers. This one is mild and doesn't perform up to a BBS level closeness of shave but it does shave closer than the L9 Schick '500' and the L2 Schick Stick. Also as I've stated before the Type L clone is nothing like any of the Schick Type L razors either. It is a much more aggressive but blade dependent for getting a BBS close shave out of that razor.
