agreed. Lucas would find some way to turn the destruction attempt into a rambling 3 hour epic, fill it with shots of a whiny hero nobody likes and his infantile gibberish speaking sidekick, and then drop the ball in an anticlimactic mess in the last 5 minutes.

Gene Roddenberry could write a decent hour long episode. The enterprise would totally win.

You make some very valid points here, but I think you do underestimate the Federation a wee bit. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying Kirk and crew would fair better than you expect.

For starters, the Enterprise crew are accustomed to ship parts attacking them. Have you ever seen what happens to the ship after their shields take 3 hits? Instrument panels falling open, sparks everywhere, crap falling from the ceiling. Let's not forget all the smoke that fills the bridge--it's a wonder they haven't all died of lung cancer or suffocation from all the flotsam and jetsom floating around on the bridge. Plus, they've faced off against Q and won! several times! Everyone knows Q has the power of Vader and the Emporer squared, plus he has the maturity of a 3 year old on crack... And trust me, there's nothing more chaotic than a 3 year old on crack, let alone a 3 year old on crack wielding supreme power!

Also, let's not forget that the ever powerful Empire couldn't find a decent contractor to build the Deathstar... I mean really, who makes a ventilation shaft that goes straight to the core? How hard would it have been to put a s-bend in that thing? Heck, even my sink has a hair-trap. Then there's the afforementioned problem of storm-trooper marksmanship-- they had their @5535 handed to them by a bunch of teddy bears wielding sticks and rocks. I contend that Star Trek's redshirts are at least almost as competent as Teddy Ruxpin and Sir Cares-a-lot.

Plus, I'm pretty sure that if Pharoah ever spoke to Khan like he does to Vader in the Night at the museum 2 trailer, he'd be pooping out of a new orifice, tootsweet.

Personally, I call it a pretty even draw.

oh, my point wasn't about explosions causing things to fly at the crew, but rather deliberate use of the force to throw things at them...but I digress, I'm no where near geeky enough of either of them to even pretend to contend with who's greater/weaker/better/etc., just that whichever side came out of it alive, would do so with a lot of luck, and would then be so depleted from the battle that they would get their @5535 handed to them by a bunch of teddy bears with rocks and sticks, who, unbeknownst to us, re-trained the storm troopers to be master marksmen, and use their new army to take over the universe

 

I knew what your point was, I'm just saying that a thing falling randomly can be as dangerous as a thing that is being deliberately thrown. You at least have a chance of seeing the thrown thing coming. There's no telling what crap might fall out of the cabinets with the next photon torpedo.

Good afternoon everyone. I had some training at work that went nice and quick, so I managed to slip away and catch the early showing of Terminator. Not a bad movie, though I think my expectations were a little high. I was sort of let down. It was a good movie, but not really great.

 

well that is cool Micah. I'll be checking that out everyday now.

 

Is that a prequel to the other ones. I know i should look it up but too many tabs open already LOL
