Great shave Joe. How's the soap holding up? I've been wondering how many shaves one can get from one of those jars.

I think water has a big impact on a soaps performance. When I bought a tub of B&M in NY it worked great in Manhattan but in Seoul it is lousy.

They inlays are brass and they are just for visual effect.

Wednesday: I do enjoy this Koraat 14 2.0 blade, it is double bellied hollow so it does not flex at all yet delivers the benefits of a full hollow. It is noisy but it sings an octave lower than a traditional full hollow. The WCS is an exceptional soap, I always get great later from it and Fougere scent is wonderful.

 

I have noticed this when I travel, a soap that performs great at home may be a dud when I am in a different location. Strange but I have experienced this with multiple soaps.

Thanks, Evan! Well, it's difficult to tell because I added a used Stirling 1oz sample that Andrew piffed me in brand new condition. I bought the jar in Feb of this year and with the sample addition to the jar, I am not below the jar threading. I would guess that I can easily get about 150 shaves with a 5.8 oz jar. As in any situation, your mileage may vary! I think the avg range would be 10 to 13 cents per shave.

 

Hard water!

 

I think Andrew was the PIFFer of the Ramblin Man I'll be using tomorrow(maybe thru Fri).

 

It depends on the hardness of the water. You will see a great difference in the soap performance if you use distilled water.
