I checked mine. All three are the same. 106. However I checked my tuckaway and it’s smaller. Pic is not great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes, I see that. These were only made from 1928-29. The ones without serial numbers should fit between October of 1927 and August of 1928, when Serial Numbers started again. They stopped making the 106 in 1928.
I was comparing a couple of my razors after seeing what @Rev579 posted above about differences in head styles for Bostonian razors. But somehow I missed a difference in my Canadian Bostonian and New Standard (on left 1st pic), at least that's what the case says. I cannot find this razor/case on @mr-razor's site. So my question is this, could it be a razor like a De Luxe Criterion Gold (2nd pic) in a New Standard case. Or possibly a New Standard and case not on his site. The cases are the same with the exception of "New Standard" stamped below the logo.
hello Jim.does your gold deluxe have a serial #on the top of the plate? if it does its a 1930 model,in not its a 1935 one..new standards had pins like new improved ..
wrong case unfortunately..they only sold the criterions in 1930 and 1935..as far as i know..christmas razors..could be wrong though..
That was my first guess, either by an individual or maybe Gillette did it because of the same style case.
possibly,if yours was a serial numbered 1930 maybe but being a 1935 model maybe not.someone had a nice standard case and put your razor in it?,or got theirs mixed up if they had both? the cases are the same, just one liner is marked standard..either way nice razors.you could find a nice standard/new improved without a case and have a home for it..the case in that shape is quite rare for it's age..
Yeah, was thinking the same also, even if just the logo part was the only good thing about it. I can always swap them. But to be honest, I did re-line the bottom of my case.
