I decided to go all in on a Bijan for men set since I couldn't quite get a good pairing with the scent and other bath products. I found some reasonably priced items on ebay. And I figured this new set could be one that I put my new Gillette Heritage razor with.

***EDIT - 2 pass + clean up. Good shave. Zero irritation. Very low aggression from the razor/blade combo but it gave an effective shave.

The Bijan for men "shave cream" doesn't really lather. It's some kind of different shaving cream that is more moisturizer than soap. I tried adding in some PAA Cube pre-shave soap but it didn't do anything to lather it up because the base cream by the Bijan company clearly isn't meant to 'lather'. It's just a cream that seems to be meant to protect the skin during a shave. I'm not totally upset about the shave cream, although I really prefer the classic lather type creams. In order to keep the scent match I will have to use this shave cream. I 'might' be able to pair Catie's Bubbles Florentine Fern shave cream, but it's not a precise match. And I went with a full product line up so I could have a fully matching scent.

It smells absolutely fantastic though. This 1980's scent is a 'hyper'-fougere. Very alive and as far as fougeres go it's a clear attempt at a crowd-pleasing smell, while maintaining a rather loud, ferny presence. It's cheap enough that anyone can afford to try it and I think those who enjoy a fougere ought to try it out.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The GZD Berber Stick Shave Soap face lathered well with the JR #255 Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the Transparent TNNSER razor with a CVS CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva 5 in 1 AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Chiseled Face Summer Storm today. 20 seconds to load the Thater 2-Band Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna 74 Tungsten still in the vintage Gillette Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Country Club Classic Fougere aftershave.
