the 3rd gen that i just used has the same head..just a heavier and ornate barber pole handle..both are awesome shavers..my jr has the canadian case and instructions.from montreal..

Well, there's a bit of history behind my use of "questionable" setups. Back in the early days of the 30DC I made it my mission to try every blade I could find. I even did some work on blade trials to test them out and compare them based on sharpness etc. I also was never afraid to give something a try that might or might not work. After all, if we truly believe that technique is the main factor in shaving, then you have to try everything to prove it, right? Again, there are defective products that certainly won't work, but even those got a try. Anyway, I have had many other shaves that were far worse than what I got from the Balaka.
