Reminds me of my father-in-law. He only calls me for purchasing advice when he's looking for someone who will talk him into buying whatever it is he's looking at. If he needs help being talked out of buying something, he calls one of his daughters.

It has been fun following along on your SR journey, Joseph. You have really embraced it and stuck with it.

I gave up my caterpillar a few years ago, and I've never grown any other facial hair. It takes work for me to get a good (and bloodless) shave around my lips and chin area with my shavette.

Not sure what the handel, and top cap is, just that it's Russian. The bottom plate is Soluna. Shaves real nice with a Feather.

We tried this cabin thing, next year, gonna cut it a little shorter. maybe 2 days. It's hard for some to get time off.

I only have two shaves with the Occam's DE and they've both been terrific. I plan on doing a nine shave run with it. Three with each baseplate. Right now I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this razor to anyone.

 

Thanks! I think it's kind of a stupid law, doesn't really prevent anything. Knives are readily available, and if they weren't, people would just use something else to hurt each other.

When i was in lapland, pretty much everyone carried a puukko very visibly. Including me. Cops won't care at all if the knives are used as tools.

The Minichamp is great, nobody pays any attention if i use it. Of course some things are very challenging with a blade that small, but it is usually more than enough. When i go in the woods, then i'll take a puukko with me.

I forgot to mention that I shaved a thirty day patch of hair off my upper lip this morning. Second year in a row that I've done a November mustache. I don't mind it for the month but I'm happy to be rid of it when it's gone.

 

I just looked up some photos of Lapland. What a gorgeous place, Daniel!

It is. Nazis burnt most of it down in the mid 40's, it has some interesting history. And great nature. I have been there only once, i live in southern finland. I would go again if i had a chance to spend enough time over there.

Very nice, Jim. I wore a mustache for about 15 years, but I much prefer being without it. It took more time to keep it trimmed than it does to shave my upper lip. Now that I am vintage, I need to allocate more "trim time" for my nose, eyebrows, and ears.

 

Did you know that Danny does covers of 60s songs in finnish?

 

...or oldsters like me firing up the coffee pot.

 

What's up with ear, nose and eyebrows? I spent the first forty plus years never really having to concern myself with them. Now they require at least weekly maintenance.

 

If you figure it out, please let me know. I hear you can go get the ears and nose hair waxed. Makes my eyes water just thinking about it.
