Thanks for the recommendation...with bands like KC that have so much material, it really helps.

Glad you're feeling better. Are you a software tester?
I can't really get past the lyrics in german with Rammstein. I'll give Oomph! a listen.

Hi, Ray! My little one likes to bash on the keys too.

heh. figures I got the wrong guy. was it gunn that came up with a glove with tiny mallets on the end for playing his bass? always thought that sounded really cool.

I had forgotten that bit of Fripp trivia. Thanks for reminding me!

I do long term reliability testing on high frequency communications chips. I have to design a lot of test boards, order parts, have boards fabbed, have things assembled, send stuff out to various labs to do the actual stressing. It's a variety of work, and most of it is pretty boring. I think the only reason I'm still doing it (previously worked for TI, they make a lot more than calculators, you know :)) is that I know how to do it and it was easier to find a job you know well. :)

Burnt up one of my good pots on the stove today. :angry037

Was making shaving cream in a double boiler, and the bottom pot ran out of water.

I have no idea about that, but he always plays a Warr bass, which are ridiculously high quality touch basses. You don't pluck the strings, you just hit them on the fretboard and the guitar is so sensitive it'll pick that up. That's how he can play such complicated bass lines. It really sounds great though.

    Exactly!

Which reminds me, Bob Saget is a very dirty, creepy comedian. Ugghhhh....some of the things I've heard him say on the Opie and Anthony show about the Olson twins. :sick007

    Thanks!

    I understand...

Did test development in Mfg. and R&D for 18 years - mostly RF test equipment. Got laid off in 2007; took a few months to hang around on the planet; decided to switch careers and go into nursing (yes, nursing). Discovered I'd never make it through 4 years of school with my mortgage intact, so started looking for work in test once again. Found a job about 8 months back, and am lucky to actually enjoy it. It may not be as much fun when there's nothing new to learn in a few years, but for now, it is good. Just need to hang in there until I can retire (like another 57 years or so :happy102).

6 years of Engineering school and two jobs later, it seems less glamorous than it did when I was 18. I figured I would be making cool things, but I went the other route, where most engineers end up. 100% of engineers start school wanting to be designers. 2% get to be designers, the rest of us support design and manufacturing somehow.

that's the guy. Some guitar magazine interviewed him some years back and he talked about it.

Yes, yes he is. He gives a super-memorable line in the movie Half Baked. It's the kind of thing brain bleach is made to correct. And this from the guy who hosted America's Funniest Home Videos for umpteen years and played the wholesome dad for even longer than that.

Never have liked Saget. John Stamos was cool though! He actually did a really good job ER too IMO.
