Saw that gem on CNBC this morning. They were talking to some drunkards in a bar and asked one if they would be replacing their OJ with Bacon Vodka. Of course she said yes.

Does it use less resources than Vista? Is the Candidate Release stable? I'd like to give it a shot, but I don't know if I want to eff with my computer for an unstable build.

Good morning... Not much to report on... great smooth shave from the shave king. If I am getting great shaves as is, why am I switching to straight? I still don't get why it is calling... it just is.

Each time I see your SOTD with the Shave King listed, I'm envious. I hope mine shows up this week. I'm chomping at the bit to try it out.

I hope it does too, I like it for those days where I want a good close shave at minimal risk of irritation. If and when I go full straight, it would be one that I would keep for that factor.

on FB? I just wouldn't participate...I used to play it, but I wanted to spend my time on FB doing other things...I just ignore all the "pass a beer" and other such requests....

    For real? :D

Haha...I went through the same thing, especially since I had such a harder time at first than you seem to be having.... I stuck with it though, and now get great shaves with straights, too. I doubt though, that I'd go all straight razor all the time.... just not practical for me... But heck, right now I'm probably 60/40 or even 70/30 in straight/DE ratio.....

Quite right, Monday's comic was actually posted and scheduled sometime early last week. The comic was probably finished a couple of weeks ago!

I was going to say something here...

But great minds think alike. Apparently so do weak ones.

Please say you're digging it a grave. Can't the world just switch to Linux already? And I still feel like XP is a strong/stable environment. I'm reluctant.

In a momentary lapse of judgement this week I loaded up my 1930 Empire with --gasp-- a Walmart Personna! I am convinced that this razor is magical. Even that POS blade shaves a treat in this thing! Last night I used a little C.O. Bigelow followed by an Aqua Velva balm (thanks Jim) and it was, as they say, "good."

Have any of you guys ever tried the Old Spice aftershave gel/balm? I saw some in a Fred's this weekend. I started to buy it, but they didn't have a price on it, and I didn't want to be bothered with trudging through the piles of crap in the aisles to find out what they wanted for it. Now I'm starting to second guess myself... I'll probably make the 40+ mile drive back to that town again in a couple of weeks, so I may slip in there and pick some up.

They also had some tiny little bottles of 4711 in there--perfect for travel. I'm thinking about buying one, just to decant from my honkin' huge fifth of this wonder-sauce.

Agreed... I have had no desire to upgrade from XP. I don't even know the last time I booted my home computer into XP.... Probably not since I accidentally gave ubuntu permission to wipe the drive that had all the games on it.... Maybe 6 months?

At work I use XP pro and have seen no reason to request an upgrade. Unfortunately, I think I am slated to have a new PC next year so I will probably be downgraded to Vista...

I would try to have linux on my classroom computer; however, the interactive remotes and the corporation gradebook software won't run on linux... stupid in my opinion...

Not so much stupid as short-sighted. The industry just hasn't caught on, yet. The schools are still teaching specific applications instead of concepts, and it's driving the "specific vendor" model of computing. Luckily though, kids are catching on, and the pioneer spirit is developing a foothold. Hopefully, within a generation or two, maybe we'll see some real progress toward "free" computing.

And what the heck happened yesterday?!? I had over 900 hits on ONS! It looks like they all came from a post I put on reddit, but still!

edit: Looking back, I see that I used the words "Myspace" and "stalkers" in the same post... note to self, do more comics on myspace stalkers.

Everybody should just switch to mac and the world will be a more shiney, error free place. I'm excited about the new little mac tablet.. netbooky.. thing that is hopefully coming out soon. If the price is right and it's cute enough I'll need an excuse to have one.

We used to be all Macs however, we switched to all windows in our district due to OS specific software. At the time, there just wasn't the software support and applications that were needed on the Mac side. Apple also killed our use of Macs. Other software companies will let you try and download pilot programs to let small cadres of staff test before the purchase is made. Apple wanted all money up front before we would get a demo. In order to see what the software looked like, we had to go to other schools or arrange for demonstrations in Chicago. So we had enough of that....

    Good morning, folks.

I used to be a big Mac person years ago before it became a popular, cool thing (in the days of the beige boxes with the screens built in). I can't stand the things now - can't stand their compatibility, their operating system, or what they stand for/what the brand represents.

macs just cost too much. that's the main reason for why I won't buy one.

I also don't like the "cool factor" associated with the brand name, but I could get over that if they dropped their prices...

I used to be big on Macs. I still have my Mac Mini, and it is excellent. It's also the last generation before the switch the Intel chips. Once they ditched the PPC chips, their quality started going to hell. I feel bad about it too, as I talked a few of my friends into buying Macs, and almost all of them have had quality control issues. I still use my Mac Mini, but I really haven't got any desire to upgrade to any of the Intel stuff, at least not as long as they've given up on quality control. The PC stuff can be hit or miss too, but it's easier for me to deal with the stupid stuff that pops up on my $350 laptop than on a $1000+ Apple.
