You are correct that the Schick injectors are labeled with letters. They used A-O, and then some letters have multiple versions, like G1 and G4 and G8. But the PAL razors, Injectomatic and Adjustable, are a different company than Schick, so they don't have that labeling system as far as I know.

We need to get you a Schick injector to try out, Jeff!

I think we'll just have to disagree, my friend. Here are the ingredients as listed by Dove for their 'bar' and by Stirling for theirs:

    Dove:
Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate, Stearic Acid, Lauric Acid, Sodium Tallowate or/ou Sodium Palmitate, Aqua, Sodium Isethionate, Sodium Stearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoate or/ou Sodium Palm Kernelate, Parfum, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)..

    Stirling bar soap:
Beef Tallow, RSPO (Sustainable) Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Distilled Water, Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance Oil, Sodium Lactate

And for the two Shave soaps-

    For Williams Shave soap:
Potassium Stearate, Sodium Tallowate, Sodium Cocoate, Water, Glycerin, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Pentasodium Pentatate, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide.

    For Stirling Shave soap:
Beef Tallow, Stearic Acid, Distilled Water, Castor Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Vegetable Glycerin, Fragrance Oil, Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Coconut Milk, Lanolin, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Lactate

You could actually argue that Williams Shave Soap is closer to Stirling than Dove is to the Stirling bar soap.

You also probably know what some of these things are better than me anyway.

We're going around in circles and it just isn't that important.

Count me as a fan of Stirlings body soap. Since making the switch from Dove I no longer suffer from dry skin. Well worth the extra expense to me.
    Thank you very much, Danny!

Jeff, My advice would be to absolutely grab an injector, they are great shavers. I would also advise not to start out with an Injectomatic. They are much more aggressive than a popular E (3 or later), G or I Schick Injector. You can get any of those very cheaply and all are well-regarded.

Thanks for the list of ingredients of each item which affirms that they are all soaps. The point I was trying to make is that I wouldn't pay for a shower artisanal soap when I can buy more of regular soap for the same price doing the same thing. However, shaving soap is more specific and it needs to provide more things to a shaver such as slickness, cushion and hydration hold, than shower soap which sole duty is to makes us clean. It is the reason why I would by a jar of Stirling shave soap then 8 pucks of Williams for the same price. With this said, let's end the discussion, peacefully. We don't need to hijack the thread ala the Bloom vs Not to Bloom Controversy a few months ago.
