I haven't had much of a chance to check in lately, and once again I am hopelessly behind on the thread. I hope everyone is doing well and @Paul Turner is recovering well.

Today's shave was nice and smooth, and with a lovely scent, was a great start to my Friday. I am looking forward to the weekend at home. I hope everyone has a great day!

This is the set I got:

    upload_2019-12-6_9-14-46.jpeg

One soap is an IPA/hops type, one is bourbon, and the other is a sandalwood soap-on-a-rope. Haven't used any of them yet.

The only issue I have with the Duke Cannon bars....they do last too long (first one lasted 5 months!). I now like to rotate bath soap aromas. I just did a completely non scientific comparison. Looking for a 'water content' consistency more or less of what we have in the house, using a thumb pressure test. Not unlike how we compare with triple milled soaps (ala SV or MdC) versus croaps/creams/etc. The softest bath soap bars by far are Stirling (4 different bars compared), then noticeably firmer is PAA (5 different bars compared) and absolute firmest was Duke Cannon (3 different bars compared). There is a little variety in firmness between the PAA and Stirling, as they are different scents, and likely different less refined cure processes and times.

Great shave, Blair, love the backbone and feel of a boar brush after it’s properly broken in!
