If you are looking for a setting to start with on that Slim I would just start low and open it up as you go.

Matt Pisarcik says he used the slim and fatboy as inspiration when designing the Rex Ambassador. My Rex is in a box waiting for Christmas. So if you wait a few weeks I should be able to answer.

My wife is 4th of 8 kids and I am the 3rd of 4. We have 4 of our own and over 25 nieces and nephews (number keeps changing) some with kids of their own. The hand-me-downs travel through the family in huge garbage bags.

Thanks, Evan. I have pretty dense, thick whiskers, and found, through trial and error, that 4 serves me well on the Rex, which doesn’t work for me as a skull scraper. My Slim belonged to my father who passed in 2013 at age 99. When I was going through his things, I found it, along with my grandfather’s OLd Type which I shaved with yesterday for the first time. Today I’ll be using his slim, and will be setting it at 5 to start off. I like an efficient shave. I’ll report back on the results.
