Cooooold shave on this 10th morning of Decadent December! I’m still recovering! This Cryogen soap is unbelievably mentholated! Wow! Definitely not a daily driver soap, but I can say it is a combination Arctic-like/Tear gas tunnel level of refreshing. I’ve had to keep my eyes closed for about 10 minutes after the shave from the menthol fumes! Great three pass head and face DFS with my Gem G-Bar. Ten minutes after the shave the fumes dissipated enough
for me to keep my eyes open. I’m now definitely refreshed, smooth and ready for the day!

PREP: Cold water rinse of both face and dome followed by a scrub with PAA’S Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap

A busier Monday than I had planned with things around the house, a couple of meetings and just dealing with life. Glad to settle in and get the shave on for the day. Another round with the New SC Deluxe/Sharp Star combination and, of course, it's Menthol Monday! Out comes the Iced Pineapple with the Wolf to make that incredibly nice and super fragrant lather. After using the Rooney yesterday this brush feels tiny in my hand and weighs almost nothing, or so it seems. Still, it made plenty of lather and set up a three pass shave that was perfect in every way. BBS finish, smooth, quiet alum, and that magnificent pineapple scent with the menthol kick. Mmmmmm, mmmmmm, good. Hope your Monday went as well as this shave did! Have a great Tuesday!!

Nice Neal! Y'all and this menthol thing....FOMO/AD kickin' in, thinking seriously about an option where I can add my own, on my terms. Thinking PAA since I can grind what I want. Maybe Stirling, but it's drops already diluted.

I landed Monday morning at 7am, I hate those over night flights but that is all that is available in between Phuket and Seoul. Took a two hour nap and then went to work with true dependable for me, Tabac, Yaqi silver tip and very sharp Riga Razor. It felt good to use a straight razor again.

Tuesday, time to get back into a regular routine and get with the decadent December theme. Today's theme is unobtainables or almost unobtainables. Not shown is AoS tallow soap, as endured by a famous opera singer @Primotenore . The brush is a very rare and never seen in stores nor on the 'bay, a custom handle from a famous woodworker in Canada @jtspartan (never in my pics but I also use his lathering bowl almost everyday). The razor is a custom from Ed Brice, so it is unique, unfortunately Ed is pulling back from making custom razors. There is also evidence in the pic of the influence of the stealth but most effective enabler Charlie, @wristwatchb . The watch is not a Rolex Sub-Mariner, if you have the money you can find one of them. This is a MKII Nassau, less money than a Rolex but as rare as hen's teeth. To cap off the shave I splashed some vintage Antaeus.

Just Gorgeous Jim. Awesome image, neat razor! Rex is the only modern DE that I've had on the list, off the list......I should have pulled the trigger on the 30% off BF sale. And I can't even begin to explain how many times I've added and emptied A&E Vanille de Tabac to shopping carts.....

Another all in decadent shave with the Tatara Nodachi, Paladin and the SV Cubebe. The Paladin with the Cubebe is a face lathering dream. The brush has just the right about of scrub and the Cubebe scent is just fantastic. With its 0.90mm blade gap, the Nodachi is a very efficient but smooth razor. Three passes and touch ups ended an "epic" BBS shave. A splash of the matching aftershave left my face smooth and refreshed while prolonging the fantastic scent. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Jeff @jgreenepa sugested a Schick blade, can't let that go by me. So kept all my goodies from the Monday shave and hunted out those blades.
How was it, well pretty darn nice.
I have to say theses blades have a resistance when going over the face. Nothing bad, but the first pass has a noticeable drag. While the Feathers glide over the face like you forgot to put a blade in the razor, these aren't quite there. The shave is just a bit off, most probably couldn't tell. Some spots that the feather smoothed out like a good coating of wax, these didn't quite get there.
Don't get me wrong! This was a shave you would like to have on your wedding day, the feathers are just a hint smoother.
If I had to rate them the feather pro as a 10, the schicks would come in at 9.8.
2 passed and a cleanup and I'm feeling great, head and face!

I know, I know... some are saying how do you tell that small of a difference???
All I can say is your more than welcome to duke it out with my whiskers, any time. I've been fighting them for almost 40 years.
