Hello all!

The Mrs. says thanks for the well wishes. We were planning on going out to a steak dinner, but we are both too tired. Gonna try again tomorrow night.

Dom, I feel for you. At 6'4" I've experienced the same problem or similar more than once. Hope it gets feeling better.

Need to get showered and shaved and run out and get bedding and hay for the girls, so I'll type at you all later tonight.

 

Dom, I feel for you as well. On my honeymoon, my wife and I stopped at Ft. Harrod in Kentucky while driving by. I gave myself a concussion walking up the stairs in one of the old buildings and nailed my head on a beam. Was on the floor in an instant and made a significant dent in a landmark. :happy102 I am always hitting my head on the overhead cabinet doors at home. They aren't quite overhead.... It hurts like the dickens to walk into the corner of a open cabinet door...

 

owie! hope that wasn't a serious injury.

I think I'm okay. Still have a headache, but no significant swelling and only a mildly sore spot on the top of my head.

Best of luck tomorrow with the steak dinner. I'll be cooking dinner for the girlfriend tomorrow night. I'm making raspberry souffle for dessert, but haven't figured out what to make as the main course itself. I'm open to suggestions.

I can't say I'm as tall as you are (I'm a hair under six feet with shoes on), but do seem to have a problem with hitting my head on things around here. There are a lot of basements with low ceiling and low pipes around here.

Found a recipe recently that looked pretty tasty and tried that out (with a few changes because I'm not big on broccoli and can't find pea shoots) tonight. Soba noodles with chicken, mustard greens, shiitake mushrooms cooked in a sauce made from sesame oil, red chili, sake, honey, and rice vinegar. Quite delicious.

Can't remember where I was living at the time, but I used to run into the kitchen cabinets all the time. I have a feeling that it's not a result of my height, but a result of clumsiness.

Oh rabbit stew sounds very good! Much better than the cream o stuff I had today. The OJ may be a bit iffy yet. I'm getting better, but this cough is gonna kill me off.

 

Good morning everyone. Just taking my time this morning. Wife works until 12 and daughter is at school until 2:15. So, I am going to go to work and pack some more things up for the summer. Then I am going to go to the post office and mail out some packages, stop by the antique store to see if I can find a straight is easily restorable condition, and then go out to eat with my wife before I have to pick up the daughter. Hmmm.. I guess now that I wrote it all down... I am not taking it that easy today. I also need to start work on cleaning the place up as my daughter invited grandparents to come celebrate her last day of school on Monday without asking us first. oh well....

I have some of those same not_quite_overhead_overhead_cabinets....my wife doesn't see the problem at 5'8", but at nearly 6'2", I have a different perspective

Same problem with my wife, except she is 5'4". I get no sympathy at all from her. She just chides me for not seeing them before I hit them or to learn to make sure they are closed before walking to the sink.

 

Good morning all. The daily shave started off a bit rough. The ole' face wasn't ready for it. Now it seems to be working ok. Getting into the habit is rough though. Daily shaving is kind of a grind. Grrrrrr....

So my daughter has lost her only set of car keys. Been MIA for two days now. I told her over year ago to get a spare made. But the key has one of those chips in it so the darn thing costs 100 bucks or some such. Her car is sitting idle in the driveway which is supposed to be my spot. Double grrrrrr.....

Gotta get to it now. Hope all is well. I'd say happy weekend, but I'm working through the whole thing. It's a triple grrrrr....

 

Nothing as much fun as a surprise package from somewhere good!

 

TSD store needs a "wish list" for those times when someone wants to get us something we want/like/need

 

Been a great day overall so far. Picked up a Swaty barbers hone and a nice looking and very sharp (maybe even shave ready) 4/8 straight for $20 combined. No markings on razor but it was in a box that is labeled United Stated Razor Co. Had a great relaxing lunch with wife. The weather was nice so we could eat outside at the restaurant. Then I got home to find my Shave Den order waiting at my door. Woo hoo!

Quiet week, eh? I'm home to grab a quick bite and some cough syrup (think I caught your cold, Pam). My b-day is next week too, but I'm trying to ignore it. Happy early birthday Matt! How old ya' gonna be? It's the big five oh for me. :scared003

 

That sounds like a nice time with the wife today. Little moments like that are very nice.
