Found this brush at an antique market. The brand on the box obviously caught my attention but there’s no mention of Simpson on the handle. In any case the knot is by far the densest I’ve used and it’s got a very good back bone to it. Oh and I paid $9 for it so I can’t have done too bad. Please let me know your thoughts. It was not uncommon for Simpson to manufacture brushes for other retailers. I found this for Alfred Dunhill https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Dunhill_Ltd. Great looking brush and super score! BTW I would hazard a guess by the styling of the lettering; I'd say 70 to 90 years old
Thanks Enrico. That makes my find even more exciting. I used it today and it’s fantastic. Super soft yet with a stiff back bone. And what a great lather maker! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's definitely a Chubby 2, regardless of handle printing. Simpson's was also known to have made brushes for Coates.
That IS a beautiful specimen. What a score for $9. Sounds like it's working great too. Thanks for sharing!
