Something was amiss. It's very rare for me to draw blood these days.
It was my first use of Zingari Man. Very slick and one of the best I've used in regards to residual slickness. I'll go with the same setup tomorrow but with a different blade.

 

Wilson has a fun party yesterday. It was a Toy Story themed party. Alice’s mom made the cake and it was a hit. Lots of presents and new toys to play with.

I think you would like The Soloist. It has what I call a dry tobacco scent, similar to Tobacco Bay and WSP Tobacco. There is some sweetness from the rum but not enough for me to describe it as a sweet scent. I don't think they offer an aftershave splash but the balm has my face feeling great. Not at all greasy and absorbed quickly.

Good morning, gents! Today is a non-shave day, but I did promise to write my final thoughts on completing my 30 same straight razor, same setup challenge. As a teacher, I am a life-long learner and I apply this philosophy to straight shaving. I was inspired to do this challenge because I saw Eric Latta of Adventures in Wet Shaving do it on You Tube. I modified the challenge by using the same soap, aftershave and balm for the 30 shaves. My reason for doing this challenge was two-fold: First, I wanted to assess my stropping technique because constantly changing straights doesn't give me a true picture.
Second, I wanted to see how well I honed this blade with films by observing if the edge stays sharp without refreshing it.
Finally, if my assessments on my honing and stropping were fine, then my doing this challenge would prompt others to try open blade shaving with a shavette or a straight razor.
Before I started the challenge, I had 2 shaves on my Wosty. Now, with 32 shaves, the razor is still sharp to give me a 2 pass near BBS or BBS on a 36 hr stubble. Therefore, I conclude that my stropping is fine and that I did a very nice job of honing this razor. However, I don't claim to be a honemeister, but it's nice to know that I can maintain my razors without someone else doing it for me. I have 2 Dovo's that I have lap honed and will also keep an eye on how their edges hold up as well.
I also wanted to say that this challenge was very nostalgic, because most straight shavers only had one straight and one kind of soap. Unlike today, where straight shavers have a multitude of razors and soaps. I want to thank each of you for supporting me on this challenge and more notably during my first year on 30DC. I can't believe my 1 year anniversary is c

Thanks for the description, Jim! I saw this soap elsewhere and it sparked my interest first as a scent I would like and second with the theme. I may look it up. I need to get rid of something first. I have two aftershaves that are almost used up and at least one soap I've marked to sell or PIF.
