    SUNDAY'S SHAVE

Razor - Gillette Red Tip Superspeed circa 1955-1960 (Re-plated in Satin-Nickel Finish and re-painted tip in Radiant Red color by Razor Emporium.)
    Blade - [IMG] *7th shave
Shave Brush - Ever-Ready 1960's vintage (Polished and re-knotted with a synthetic 26mm Ubersoft II knot from Envyshave by Razor Emporium.)
Shave Stand by by Desire Metal Works
Suds - Procter & Gamble Old Spice "Original" Cream (Made in India) *I dried it out for months into a hard soap.
Aftershave - Procter & Gamble Old Spice "Classic" *tiny bottle 2008-2013'ish vintage
Post-Shave Balm - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Mysterium Serum"
Deodorant - Procter & Gamble Old Spice "Classic"
Fragrance - Procter & Gamble Old Spice "Classic" *tiny bottle 2008-2013'ish vintage

My search on ebay in early 2016 for a replacement splash bottle of Old Spice (due to only finding the spray-cologne bottles in stores/in other words, these very bottles pictured) are what kick-started my whole journey on fragrance and classic wet shaving. Without these bottles, I would not have the collection of shaving gear and fragrance that I have today.

30s? French Spadson razor/Suneko (2). Rather poor build quality, not smooth, angle tricky, not particularly efficient, and carrying on the annoying French tradition of unmarked differential exposure. But hey unlike @Cha-wing!! I didn't hurt myself, and once I decided to stick to the more aggressive side and settled in for a second pass on my head I almost enjoyed this, and ultimately landed a true BBS (meaning no need for Enders pick ups). One German user swapped a Fatip cap with better results, I might give that a go.[IMG]

    Decadent December!!!

    December 15

Razor - Feather DX Artist Club (Pain Stick)
    Blade - [IMG]
    Soap - Stirling Port-Au-Prince [IMG]
Brush - 30DC Meet UP LE w/ TGN Grade A Silvertip
    Post - Alum

Wait a minute - what time is it? Yep, just after 1 pm and I shaved in the middle of the day today! Is the world ending? Well, no, but it's snowing on top of a thin layer of ice in the Lou so I stayed in today. I-70 is jammed with a 13 car pile up near us and it just seemed the wise thing to stay indoors. So, since I skipped shaving last night due to my late night, I decided to take care of it early today. Head shave as well with the Merkur 23c and Astra SP blade along with the VDH boar and soap. The soap is about gone so I'll be deleting that from my inventory in a week or two. I'll just go back to using Arko and not bother with the VDH anymore. It's a fine soap, inexpensive and all that, but with all of the Arko in my stash I don't need another bargain soap.

As for the "real" shave - one more with the DX and Pro blade. It's Sheep Sunday so out comes the Port-Au-Prince for that mutton tallow richness and slickness. The 30DC Meet up with the badger in it provided more than enough lather and I'm really enjoying this version of the knot. I need to spend more time with my badgers and I'm glad I chose them for their decadence this month. Three passes to a perfectly perfect finish and the alum was only slightly warm in places. I'll definitely take that on a pain stick shave. Hope the weather's better where you are! Happy Sunday!!

Yeah brother, I really like this razor. Honestly after using the Occam for a week, I wanted to switch back to the Apollo as a reference since I enjoyed the Occam so much and it is fresh in my head. Your pics were a reminder to do this as well. The Apollo feels slightly more aggressive, both feel heavy, while the Apollo’s head feels flatter and more nibble under the nose for me. Both are great shavers with their own nuances and both look great to boot. Maybe it’s the blade, Feather in the Occam vs 7 O’clock in the Apollo, or it’s just in my head, but I feel the Occam gives a slightly closer shave. Both are really BBS so the difference is negligible. I picked up 3 DE razors in 2019 that really stand out to me: The Apollo, Occam, and WR2. These guys are some of my favorites in my collection. Throw in the Raw RS-18 from last Christmas and this past year really boosted the quality of my favorites roster.

Roger Steve. The apollo is heavy! I am still roaring thru blades to find my optimal set. Just love the quality of it. Like you i bought 3 razors this year: apollo, blackbird, and carbon one. Alnd like you I need something nimble under my nose. The Timeless is kinda hard to manage there. Glad you like it boss!

Just to add the lather from the soap was awesome and built up really quickly and had a really good slick as well, smell was divine!
First time with a feather blade and it fits the merkur perfectly
Great shave and with the moisturiser and a tiny splash of old spice I feel so cool and invigorated good choice I think!
