keep going. the strip is funny.

    here's a c.s. lewis quote that's quite appropriate:

"every disease that submits to a cure shall be cured: but we will not call blue yellow to please those who insist on still having jaundice, nor make a midden of the world's gardens for the sake of some who cannot abide the smell of roses." (from the great divorce)

Cheap exposure over a much larger area than TV and radio, the appearance of being "hip" and up to date and relevant, and the very convenient nature of the medium in dispersing small amounts of information. It's baiting the line and getting consistent hits with little effort.

Ummm.....the only companies' pages I've looked at are companies I already buy from.

But my question was also, Why all of those? Why Twitter AND Facebook AND blog?

The ads on FB are so off to the side, I'd have to scroll over to see them. :D One of the laser hair removal ads I removed from showing up in my profile, FB wanted feedback on why I wanted it removed. The best of the options was "Offensive". :rofl
Rhetorical question. that I knew someone would give me gruff about.

    You did.......

I'm guessing the reason for using all those delivery systems is the same justification for carpet bombing: they wanted to hit everything and everyone that they could.

    The case was thus:

    Guy is in rollover accident.
He gets ejected from the truck, and is paralyzed from the nipples down.
He claims he was wearing his seatbelt, and that through inertial forces of the crash, it came unlatched.
He claims that "big seatbelt company", the company that manufactured said belt, knowingly was selling a defective belt design, and that it is unsafe.
    Suing for millions of dollars.

Seatbelt company, says, "No, he wasn't wearing his seatbelt."

5 days of smoke and mirrors. Plaintiff lawyer was a real bulldog. And slick.

The defense lawyers were clumsy and awkward. Their theories were kind of weak, and their "expert" witnesses were shoddy, at best.

But in the end, the legal question was, "Did Seatbelt company sell a faulty seatbelt?"

What it all boiled down to was-- even if, and this a big "if" he did have his seatbelt on, and it did, in fact, come loose during the crash, that does not necessarily mean that it was faulty. The 1-in-a-million conditions that had to happen for it to come undone do not in fact prove that it was defective. This seatbelt is in 85% of all cars on the road today, and it has passed stringent testing. I, and the jurors apparently, felt that due dilligence had been applied on the part of the company. It's a shame for the dude in the chair though. He seems like a nice guy.

I think you're out of that marketing demographic. This kind of shotgun tactic is geared at people who wake up every day, hit up Myspace, Facebook, and whatever multiple times a day, Twitter their every waking thought and movement, and before they go to bed, upload whatever pictures they took of their superficial and empty lives to their Facebook/Myspace pages, blog about how their teachers suck and they have too much homework to do, and then hit Twitter one last time to inform the world "Go N 2 slp. nvR d8 loosers cuz loosers nvR d8. LoL"

of course, there will be one every year or so, as long as there are people willing to spend bajillions of currency on such devices year after year (not exclusive to Apple: Microsoft, IBM, Playstation, XBOX, Ford, GM, Toyota.....)
