No, my wife was.
She's only lived in this area for about 7 years and doesn't really know her way around, as we don't get too far away from home. Well, she got district jury duty in a town about 60 miles from home. She's only ever been to the town 2 times before and went different routes both times, so I drove her to jury duty and hung out while she got picked.

Well, she wanted me to drive her down the next day, so I went along for the ride, and sat in on the case, because, hey, what else did I have to do all day? My razor buying money is already depleted for the month, so I might as well watch a little Matlock, right?
Danged if I didn't get hooked. It was fascinating, so I went back every day I could. I was thoroughly suprised to find out just how much like T.V. the trial really was. Except stretched out over a week. The hardest part, though, was that she wasn't allowed to talk about it, so I couldn't talk to her about it. I didn't want to influence her in any way. I was actually a little surprised that they came up with pretty much the same decision I did.
