Well, I've been through my five decadent choices for December so I'll just circle back through in no particular order. To start the second half off let's go to the '46-'47 Aristocrat. It's appropriate anyway, as this was the first vintage I ever bought. I started my trip down the rabbit hole in November 2014 and my first attempt to find an internet home was less than successful. It's another board, rather well known, but rather unfriendly and uppity, in my humble opinion. One member there, however, also lived in STL and offered to sell me his Arisocrat. I had no idea what it was but I looked it up on eBay, his selling price was comparable, so I said sure. Love the razor! I paired it this time with the Sharp Star. Perfect combination. I normally use the Voskhod with this razor but the Sharp Star is equal to the task.
Soap and brush, well it is Tabac Thursday so there you go. Back to the Moreau and I was happy to grab it again. I know I've sung its praises plenty but I'll keep doing it. Love this knot and the mesquite handle is totally unique. Yep. It's good to win raffles and be the czar as well! Three passes to perfection and all's well in my world.
When the clock strikes midnight it will officially make it December 20th, and that will be my official 5th year anniversary of joining the Shave Den. I wandered in here five years ago and said hi. The first person to say hi back was some guy who lived in Colorado at the time. Said his name was Chris. Had a strange Moreau like name of
@Bama Samurai on here but I didn't hold it against him. There was no 30DC yet, though it was in the planning stages within the mind of the mighty Samurai man. It's been an amazing five years for me here at TSD and I just want to say thanks to everyone who has become a friend, either just online or in person. And, I want to again say thanks to everyone in the 30DC who have made it the busiest and most used forum I think anywhere that deals with shaving. I can't take the credit for its inception because, as I said, Chris was the genius behind that. I was just a charter member who couldn't figure out how to shave yet. The original gang from back then - well let's just say we have come a long way. More on that as the New Year approaches! For now - thanks to the
@Queen of Blades for making this place possible! It's been a fun and educational five years!! Happy Friday everyone!
