Thanks for the humorous comment. I usually am pretty reserved with my discretionary income, but sometimes you have to splurge. The soap and aftershave are small purchases so I can justify it. It's not like I am buying a Martinez custom straight razor for 600 dollars or more.

 

Welcome, Miles! You are just starting out in this hobby at a young age. There are many experienced wet shavers that are willing to help you. Feel free to ask any questions about razors, soaps, etc.

 

Well, what do you know! I have a Cryogen soapmate. Lol! Seriously, you must like the soap because you bought the aftershave. What are your thoughts about Cryogen soap?

I like Cryogen. It feels really good on the skin and builds a great lather. I will use it a lot more in the spring. My wife and I keep the bedroom at about 50 F in the winter. We actually have a heater that blows warm air between the sheets. The bed is warm but the room is cold. The master bath is small and doesn't hold heat very well. Cryogen makes me feel the cool when I'm trying to avoid the cold.

I think you will like it.

Newest shave soap pick up for this Month of December. kinda think I paid an arm and a leg for it on eBay, but couldn't help my self had to try out that vintage os shave soap to match with the aftershave I have already. so far I am enjoying it. Surprised at how slick it is considering how old it is and how well it lathers up.

Thanks for your input, Evan! I have seen shavers on YouTube use this soap and some have had no problems while others did. I guess it depends on one's tolerance level. Personally, I don't like cold weather, but I think I can weather the Cryogen storm.

I see you have old school tastes, Miles! You already are ahead of the learning curve. What razor or razors are you using?
