I got the grey stone like handle that looks similar to a Chubby 2. I looked really hard at the green resin Veteran on but was worried about the logo peeling off.

I was very close to going with the Veteran myself. What kept me from ordering it is that I already have a few green brushes.

The year's not over yet but I'm off work until January 2nd so I've been thinking about the year's accomplishments.

In 2018 I took over a highly visible very troubled project at work. In 2018 we had 24 critical service outages, major capacity issues, and more than 50 hours of downtime due to maintenance, costing the company millions. I was the 4th manager on the project in less than 2 years, with one manager quitting after 3 months. 80+ hour work weeks were the norm and my team members were all looking for new jobs. Thinking of it like a railroad, we had 24 derailed trains, cargo rotting in the yard because we couldn't move it and hours when nothing was moving because crews were working on the tracks.

I won't bore you with the details, but in 2019 our project had 4 limited scope outages and now handles 8x the traffic. Plus, we did this work without any downtime. Back to the railroad analogy, in 2019 we had only 4 issues of damaged goods while moving 8 times the cargo and doing all our maintenance while the trains were running. Not a bad year.

The success did come at a price and stress levels were high. Shaving and restoring razors was my stress reliever and apparently I needed a lot of it. In 2019 I purchased 85+ razors. Most of them were purchased for $5 to $10 for practice plating, but there are few more expensive ones in there. I've given away about 20 and introduced 17 people to the hobby, at least 5 of whom have completely switched to DE shaving. Also not a bad year.

Oh, and I lost 40 lbs in 2019.

I wanted to thank you guys for your part in these successes. You've been patient with me when I had nowhere else to share my thoughts. It really helped.

    Merry Christmas everyone!
