Prep: Cold water and PAA Cube pre-shave soap
    Blade: vintage Schick Platinum Plus
    Razor: Schick M adjustable
    Brush: Ever Ready 100T badger
    Soap: Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica
Post: Witch hazel, Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica aftershave

Well friends, I succumbed to the wonderful scent of Felce Aromatica and ended up purchasing the set. First use of it today. The scent is wonderful and the lather quality was slick and bountiful. Easy shaving but a couple of weepers below my chin as I likely used a little too much pressure there. The aftershave is a bit strange. It has a gel type texture that seems like it would be hydrating and refreshing, but my face felt pretty dry in just a few minutes. I've been using some Stirling balm anyway with the cooler weather, so it was fine in the long run.

Nice purchase that I'll enjoy. Now I need to refrain from purchases for a while and get some soaps used up. Easier said than done but I have excellent software that needs to be used.

It's been busy with the trip to Chicago. Yesterday morning we had the town Christmas parade that the band marched in. Then Alice and I met some friends for a little Christmas gathering. We're going to another set of friends' house tonight for dinner. Wilson has been with his grandparents in Mobile but they are all traveling back to us today. Full house the next few days.

    Enjoy your day!

Nice recovery Joe. Again, we're looking forward to your report. I used the Frankincense & Myrrh yesterday and need to retract my previous comment. The scent mellowed out to a pleasant subtle scent I enjoyed for hours. Still not sure I'll buy a jar for use the rest of the year, but I might if it's on sale.

Nice shave Perry! This season is great. A full house at Christmas is a Christmas tradition. My parents and I live in the same county for the first time since I was 18. Now that they're just a short 30 min drive away we don't travel to each other's homes and spend days under the same roof during the holidays. I had no idea I would miss that. I want to live 30 min away and still spend the night from time to time.

Anyway, enjoy your full house! Full houses are wonderful at Christmas time!

    Evan:
It’s an incredible soap, but is water hungry. I like to use a brush with some good backbone to build a somewhat dry paste which I then apply to my face. I then wet my brush slightly with warm water and proceed to face lather. Repeat brush wetting as appropriate. This method has always worked for me. You have to spend about a minute or two, but this soap builds the most slick, protective lather. Some folks complain about being unable to build a good lather blaming water hardness or whatever. I’ve taken this soap all over the country, and have never had a problem building a great lather with this face lathering method.

F and M is a scent that you love it or you don't. It isn't a get in your face scent, but it still is a clean scent. Sometimes, I want a mellow scented soap. It is all good!

Thanks Joe. Merry Christmas to you, my friend!
    Thanks Perry. Merry Christmas!
Sounds good, Gary! I'm not fond of being in photos, either.
Thanks Bill! I appreciate the kind words, and a Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!

We have several photo stations at our church. We intend to gussy up and visit during the week with our camera and tripod to get more photos. We said the same thing last Sunday, but it hasn't happened yet. We decided to get a phone pic today in case we don't make it back.

My weight is up to 204 with all the holiday eating, but I'm working to get back down to target. I threw away a partial apple carmel pie today at the unanimous request of my Bride and me. (She's never had a weight problem in her life, but she feels the need to watch more closely while taking some new meds.) We got together with family last night and received pecan and blueberry pies as gifts! We made arrangements this morning to hand them off to friends hosting big family gatherings. (We got invited over to join them in the process.) The pies are currently under lock and key until we can deliver them.

My Bride was looking for the chocolate covered raisins and nuts earlier today. Sadly, she couldn't find any. I told her I took the bullet for her. :happy102: So the moral of the story is....I'm having a bowl of oatmeal and some fruit for dinner.

How did you make the connection between my photograph and a fruitcake? ;) Funny you should mention fruitcake. We're going to my sister's house on Christmas Eve, and she told me she'd like a fruitcake. I haven't made one for awhile (that recipe I gave you is wonderful, BTW), so I'm planning a road trip tomorrow to pick one up. These are really good...definitely not the door stops you get at the drug store. I asked my sister if she wanted some of their fudge too, and guess what she said? And then my Bride chimed in. Yep, we're getting fudge. I hope my Bride finds a good hiding place for it. :happy108:
