Thanks, Blair! I do quite like the scent of Boss Bottled, but it's way too expensive for me. My father uses it quite often.

I had to splash on a little bit, and i do like the scent. It felt pretty good on the face, not drying at all. Considering it's a cheap store brand (Lidl) aftershave, i'm actually impressed. Oh, and it has glycerin and witch hazel in it.

I'll try it tomorrow if i have time to do a quick shave early in the morning. Probably after christmas i'll have more time to enjoy my soaps and brushes..
    Thank you, Jeff!

My woman and I celebrated Christmas early as we always do. This is her busy season for performing, even though she only does charity performances now she stays very busy. For the newer members she is a violinist but is retired. She is Korean but spends a lot of time in the Philippines doing her charity work and staying warm.

It is back to work for me and Monday's I usually use a safety razor but in the holiday spirit I went with a straight razor today. This Mastro Livi Giffreto has a velvet like edge and gave a nice comfortable shave.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah and Happy Holidays to all the members of the 30DC

Thank you, Evan. One of us is definitely cute, and her name is Kathy.

I can see why you like wearing the 5.11 tactical belt. It is not exactly right for Christmas, but I love wearing it with jeans and khaki shorts. It's the first time I've had a belt like it, and there's no telling how long it will last.

I picked up a couple of new belts this year as I lost weight. Aside from the 5.11, I picked up a thick leather Bull Belt to replace a similar belt from Saddleback Leather I had worn for a few years. This is another high-quality belt that will last a very long time, and the price was very reasonable. I need to add a dress belt, but I don't routinely hang with @Keithmax so I hardly ever dress up.

I also picked up a couple of pairs of jeans that will probably stay with me as long as I maintain my weight. They seem to wear like iron too. I don't need to buy ripped jeans. I buy 'em dark blue and stiff and rip 'em myself over the years. :)

Before anyone points it out, I know I would not be be welcome on a men's fashion forum. :happy097:

This may be a first for the thread - belt and jeans enabling. :)

It is the devine nature of the monks to create incredible fruitcake when they get their hands on the the fine spirits of the Kentucsylvania stills!

    Enjoy!

    Thanks Bill!

A lot of folks don't like fruit cakes, but these are actually very good. We plan to share half with my sister and take the other half with us on our January road trip. I'll hum My Old Kentucky Home every time I sample it.

They're actually made in the center of bourbon country. We'll drive past the Barton 1792 distillery on the way. Well, we might actually stop there. :) It's one of the few distilleries in Kentucky that offers free tours and tastings. Per my Bride, we'll also check out the shops and the Christmas decorations in Bardstown, Ky.

As long as everyone riding in the car has fun tomorrow, we can call it an official Road Trip. :)

If you recall, we started the fruitcake wars after hearing the rumor that Claxton only made ONE batch of fruitcakes. And while a few 'new old stock' items may exist for sale, most remain seasonal store displays brought out annually for decoration.
And, those Claxtons we see circulating as gifts are the foundation of the practice we know as re-gifting.
In my 62 years, I have tasted exactly 2 fruitcakes I considered to be of consumable quality, and only 1 that was magically delectable.
Perhaps next year will be the year I make one. Or...... just order one of those 460 cal/serving jobs from the Monks.

Great to hear the good news Charlie. Your patience and devotion to your Bride are commendable and admirable. You are one of the chief troublemakers around here (not that it's a bad thing) but you have a heart about as big as the Arch! Enjoy the holidays and your trips and don't worry about the Minnesota weather in March. It usually warms up to near zero by then. You'll be fine.
