    Wow, I think the orange really sets this apart. Was able to sort out the edge this weekend, and I now have a shave that matches the look.

    Yesterday’s,shave, two Gold Monkeys testing out the new Japanese hone, one was finished on thin slurry and the other the same but with added clear water strokes. Not a huge difference but both tested well and shaved well. There’s still a lot of testing on different steels and such to assess cutting sped, fineness, suitability for hard steels and so on. Soap was 3P lathered with a Simpsons 59 and a dab of ABC almond balm finished up a great shave.

    Today’s shave was #54 on the Filly edge longevity test, the edge is holding up really well. My cleanup pass had no visible stubble on the tissue, so the edge is still shaving very well indeed. Soap was I Coloniali Mango Oil lathered with a M&F Alibaba Finest, and IC Rhubarb balm finished up a BDBS shave.
