Of course I would use my Toggle on Christmas Eve. It is the current king of my collection. I decided to use a feather on a lower setting to see what would happen. Well, I got a close shave with a few weepers on my neck. Too much pressure with the least forgiving blade I have. Not too bad. Alum and AS seems to have fixed me up.

It's going to be a great day. We still have a few things to get done, but we're close.

I have a Fatboy F1 in my tumbler right now. Completely disassembled and stripped to bare brass. Going to see if I can get a mirror finish on it tomorrow. Just nickel this time, but thinking something else may be in order if it turns out well enough.

Here's the before. Its smooth but had a lot of bare brash showing through. It had spent years covered in soap scum which ate the nickel but left the brass in good shape.

For me most soap does not have the staying power to overcome an aftershave.

I do avoid ones that make me smell like I was licking the ashtrays, taking a dirt nap, or spending nights in a dirty hippie girl appartment.

Doesn't get much better than this lather.
Tabac can really take on the water.
One of the biggest mistakes is under-hydrating their lather.
IMO, go ahead an ruin a couple of bowls of soap, to really discover how much water can be added.
Water is your best friend and what makes lather really slick.

Opted for a DE razor with 48 hours of primo-stubble, and the 2011 R41 was more than up to the task.
Inconceivably, I loaded the many-times used Wilkinson Chromium.
These blades are incredible.
Three passes for the BBS and for the extra point, I splashed the magnificent Tabac all over my face.
Winner, winner chicken dinner.

For me it's not at all about the staying power of the soap, I shave pre-shower. Any lingering scent is long gone. It's about the continuation of the theme. Or it's just a case of OCD.

So...back in early November I bought the PAA CK-6 SS unscented along with a couple AS/C fragrances. Thinking....hey, the AS/C is what lasts, and I’ll save some $$$. Can always add a drop of AS to the SS if I want.

And then he had a pretty good BFCM sale on both SS and AS/C, and that killed the idea. Bought the missing soaps. Right there in the same box Jim!

Got cleaned up and a good 2 pass shave, head and face. Used the Razorock Green Lable, very nice. I thought the Black Label was good till I shaved with the Green. It has a fresh clean scent that I like, don't know what it is, I'm getting the after shave that matches. All of these Razorock soaps lather great with good slickness and lather hangs around.

My old razor came through again with a new filed blade. I was clean and smooth 12 hours ago, last nights shave. But I needed another shave, getting scruffy. Being scruffy at night ain't so bad, but that look on me, doesn't work.

It's Christmas eve, and all is good.
Hope Santa brings what you asked him for, me and Santa are pals, so we're all covered here. The kids will be back in a few hours for the night, so I got some time to prepare.

I'm not big on Christmas music, but a few songs just bring it in.

Good afternoon, guys!
I normally don't shave at 24 hr mark, but I am attending church service tonight and want to look my best for my single brothers and sisters. Also, I was wondering why my beard was too "scruffy" at 24 hours. The setting for the Fatboy was a 5 instead of 9. Lol!

Rockwell Blade (5)
Semogue OC Badger Brush
CF Cryogen SS and AS
Nivea ASB
I decided to use the Cryogen again because I wanted to see if I can dial it in and get the max performance out of it. I looked at a P Hinn video and he had this soap very wet. I figured that it was the reason because this soap needs plenty of water. I also wetted my brush with medium hot water to get more of a load on the brush. The lather was great and so was the freeze on my face! Love it! I did 3 passes for a BBS shave. I used cold water in between passes and the freeze was off the charts! The lather is slick, but the cushion is not on par with Stirling because this lather needs to be very wet, but not so wet that you see skin. I applied a liberal amount of aftershave and it really is cold! Finished with the Nivea ASB. Didn't download a pic because it is the same lineup as yesterday's shave with the exception of the Semogue Badger. I am still feeling tingly and still didn't get any tearing from the eyes. Again, whatever you celebrate, enjoy you families and your friends. God bless!

I am officially getting old now that I am turning 55 today. So I decided to break out some favorites for my birthday shave. The MdC Vetyver simply smells fantastic. I get a smokey earthy smell that comes on strong and stays that way throughout the shave. The ruby CH2 synthetic is always a pleasure and fit the time of the year. However, the Rex Ambassador was the star of the shave. Three passes with touch ups and buffing the lower right neck ended in a @Keithmax "Epic" shave. Just Wow. A splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver and a spritz of Guerlain Vetiver EdT and I am to the office for half a day. I will meet the ladies for a late birthday lunch before celebrating our Christmas tonight. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve for those that celebrate and a fantastic Tuesday for the remainder.

Merry Christmas to all on this 24th day of Decadent December, Christmas Eve. My new-old LaResche 77 arrived from France yesterday. After cleaning and sanitizing it, I decided to shave with it today. Although it is an intimidating looking design, some have described it as the best safety razor design ever. And I believe it after using it! The first pass WTG took the whiskers down to the skin line. One more ATG pass cleared the facial whiskers. I didn’t need more than one pass on the dome. I love my Shake Sharps, but this razor is in another category altogether! The designers at LaResche knew their business! I really enjoyed this effortless BBS shave! I feel smoooooth, refreshed and clean!

PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub of the face and dome with PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap

Well, Decadent December has led us to Christmas Eve. Time to shave and await the sound of an approaching deer-powered aircraft. The boys are planning target practice tonight. Jussssssst kidding. We'll leave the fat guy alone. I decided since it is Christmas Eve and the three ghosts will visit anyone who even suggests we're gunning for Santa, I'd put Matthew the Haunted Razor up to keep them at bay or join their forces. Who knows. Whatever the case, the New SC Deluxe is an amazing razor and with a Voskhod on board I'm in for some high quality shaves. The Stirling badger is up for the brush and, of course, Stirling Christmas Eve has to be the soap of choice.

Three great, smooth passes and I'm all smooth and ready to see what Santa is bringing. Yeah, I know, what hubris to think he would stop after the Cartel threatened his safety. Well, a guy can dream, right? Hope you all have a great night. For those celebrating with family enjoy! For those who may be alone - you're never alone when you've got the 30DC on your side. Well, Decadent December has led us to Christmas Eve. Time to shave and await the sound of an approaching deer-powered aircraft. The boys are planning target practice tonight. Jussssssst kidding. We'll leave the fat guy alone. I decided since it is Christmas Eve and the three ghosts will visit anyone who even suggests we're gunning for Santa, I'd put Matthew the Haunted Razor up to keep them at bay or join their forces. Who knows. Whatever the case, the New SC Deluxe is an amazing razor and with a Voskhod on board I'm in for some high quality shaves. The Stirling badger is up for the brush and, of course, Stirling Christmas Eve has to be the soap of choice.

Three great, smooth passes and I'm all smooth and ready to see what Santa is bringing. Yeah, I know, what hubris to think he would stop after the Cartel threatened his safety.
