I had a VDH boar which was OK. I got a EJBBB and that was much better. I did a brush restore and that brush has been my main brush ever since. I was using the VDH to travel, but it started losing hairs constantly. I picked up a Body Shop Synthetic, but don't care much for it. It just can't build a good lather for me. I recently sold off the neglected EJ BBB and am thinking about re-knotting the VDH as it started loosing hairs when I went to use it traveling.

I have a 26 mm knot in my brush that I re-stored and I just love that thick old finest badger knot. On the other hand, I never really gave boar a chance. So now I am tempted.... If I waste my straight money (that was going to go to Matt) on brushes that Matt tempted me on, its all Matt's fault... right?

Hmmm, help Matt make Leon's car payment or get yourself a new brush. :think002

The Semogue 1305 wasn't much more than that Tweezerman. And truth be told, my $65 (I got it on sale for $55) Penchetta Penworks Redwood Burl in Silvertip has sat unused for the better part of a month, or more - well, I did use it once I think last week because I felt bad for it sitting there ignored.... The Semogue is now my 3rd brush, and I doubt I'll get another for a while - I'm not much of a SBAD person...

Sure, I'll take the blame. :D Although, if you want to try a boar, I have 3 for sale on the b/s/t (somewhere) that would be comparable to my Ever Ready (they're ERs also). Two of them I don't think have been used, in all honesty, or at least not much at all. The third is more a candidate for a re-knot. Check 'em out, I'll hook ya up. ;)

EDIT: to add, I think I'm an all boar man, now....

Nothing wrong with that, I know you face lather most if not all the time, and thats when I use a boar. It just works better for me when I use a shave stick. For creams, I bowl lather and I go with the badger, just seems to work better that way for me.

I was that same way until a short while ago, when I tried face lathering creams for a second time. This time I used the boar to face lather the creams, and got incredible results compared to when I tried to face lather creams with the silvertip. I haven't used a bowl in quite some time, now, either... I do have my soaps in some mugs or dishes, however I seem to rarely use those anymore, either...

Well all good people, my son just came in with 2 unexpected computers from their karate teacher for me to work on, so I'll type at you all later.

Speaking of computers, I have been sitting here for an hour or so trying to get this cruddy laptop boot so I could watch TV and be online. First windows wants updates, then Avast updates, then firefox, then the mouse stops working, then the wireless goes down.. ugh!

Of course now that I am back online, I can't think about what I had to say...:happy102

If it's just for knocking around on, would formatting it and putting a low footprint version of Linux be an option? I've done that in the past for older laptops that were used for nothing more than internet and music.

I would; however, I need something at home that I have access to in order to run some of my school applications which are windows only. It has been tempting to put Ubuntu on here; however, I would SOL when next fall comes. That and it would really throw my wife for a loop. She uses it more than me.

Just did a quick edit for language, just a little bit too much for this forum.

Shaved with the sweet Mergress. It's a winner. And after playing with the Shave King before showering, I think I got the blade even on both sides. There's a good amount of play that I'll need to watch for with each blade replacement.

    Hey there Pam and Dom!

Corey glad the new razor shaves as good as it looks. Don't understand the Shave-King thing, the cap on mine fits fairly snug into the grooves, locking it into position.

Tweezerman is an awesome brush, especially for the price
I PIF'd mine to a "friend" (soon to be brother-in-law....loooong story), whom I got into wet-shaving about 1.5 years ago
hated to give it away, but with my B&B Essential, my brushes I've reknotted, and the ones on the waiting list to be turned, I just didn't need it
but I would definitely recommend it for anyone
isn't our line of work great?
hehehe, when I finally got around to dual-booting my home computer, I forgot to make XP the default OS, so one day I come home a little late from work, and my wife asks "what's wrong with the computers?". both the desktop and laptop were booting to Ubuntu by default, and it was just tripping her out :happy097
    since then:
    A) both are booting to Windows (desktop-XP, laptop-win7) by default, and
    B) she knows how to do what she may need in Ubuntu, though she'll probably never try again :D

    Thank you, US Government.
Thank you for forcing the people to switch to digital signal TV.
Thank you for giving us a $40 coupon for a $50 converter box that we HAVE to use to get over the air signals.
Thank you for taking away my strong, consistent, perfectly adequate and sufficient analog signal, in favor of jumpy, choppy, crappy digital signal that is harder to understand than a drive-thru speaker.
I just love trying to keep up with the tornado warning I'm under by catching only every 17th word the weather man is saying. It really helps to know exactly what the situation is, unfortunately, I don't benefit from such help, since I can't decipher what he's saying.
Did he say the warning is over? or the tornado is over my house?
Did he say to take cover? or to get under the covers as all is well?
Did he say we're in immediate danger? or to call a Rescue Ranger?
    I don't elfin' know!
Screw you folks who made the decision to foul up my TV reception!

Not my line of work, just a hobby... That most people take for granted. Don't get me wrong, I like to offer help, I don't like to have other people offer my help to strangers. :angry032

Oh yeah, my wife is the same way.

Just remember how much better the digital switch made the cell phone systems. Man I miss my old Motorola Star Tac. :angry032

One summer we went visiting my wife's aunt. I started getting phone calls from the aunt's 3rd husband's extended family all wanting me to come work on their computers. Ugh!

    Good morning everyone!
