    Merry Christmas on this fine Christmas day. The stars were out last night, this morning chilly, but sunny. The birds are taking advantage of the properly filled feeder, and the squirrels digging for their morning snack. A wonderful day to be alive and with those who love you and yours. The wife and I got the Christmas cards in the mail yesterday, wrapping presents while the kids are visiting some other of their relatives. It's been busy here, to say the least.

    A new package in the mail yesterday, no time to open it till today. My two Yaqi razor heads arived, in time for todays shave.
    Took out the slant one, promptly installed a new Feather blade then tightened the RR DE-1 handle to it. Using some Razorock Gold Label soap, washed with a light coating for the pre-shave, rinced, then lathered up for the job at hand.
    The soap starts with citrus note, then fades away quickly to a more woodsy scent. I'm not good at picking out items in the scent, not sure what it is, but its good. I noticed they aren't selling a matching AS, so maybe the confidence in this scent isn't there, or it's just sold out. Lather and slickness is top end, no issues there.
    The razor head matches well to the handle, good choice there. This razor makes no bones about showing off your blade of choice, has more blade showing than any other razor I own, bar none, it looks marvelously evil when loaded. The first swipe with this tool said to me, time to rumble. The razor doesn't just make noise, nor does it just talk a little, it carries on a full conversation, while you shave. The first pass was great, need to ride the cap on this like a mad man. The second pass sealed the deal, smooth and clean. The head shave was as good, all the while it's chattering away. My wife loves the results, a fine Christmas shave indeed.

    No issues on the maiden shave for this bad boy. Everything else worked as expected.

    Wondering what the other razor head shaves like in comparison to this one.

    We had dinner, exchanged gifts, and watched movies with my sister, her husband, and her two Pomeranians last night. We've had a quiet Christmas morning, a really nice Christmas lunch, and we're planning to join some dear friends and their family for afternoon festivities. A fruitcake tin has been within reach at all times. :) It's mostly sunny and in the 60s, and we're also planning to get outside a bit. We are most definitely blessed.

    Merry Christmas, Neal. I hope Jennifer is feeling better, and I hope you both made it to the Chinese buffet. It reminds me of the scene in The Christmas Story. I just hope a pack of crazy dogs didn't get into your house and eat up all your goodies. ;)

    Just remember, it's not really a breach of etiquette 'round here to skip the Triple Dare and go straight for the Triple Dog Dare. :cool:

    That's definitely a top shelf shave, Clint, with a little Kentucky splendor (Small Batch Shave Tonic) thrown in. Enjoy Christmas with all those beautiful ladies in your life.

    (I decided not to mention future sons-in-law. I have been working on my restraint and good manners.)

    Wonderful shave, Terry! Gather up those beautiful grand kids and give them hugs from Kathy and me. We'll be going to a friend's house to play with some kids shortly. If we're lucky, we might even get some hugs. Can't wait! Merry Christmas, my friend.

    Christmas Day Shave, using only top favorites from my den, the penultimate December Decadence shave for me. Terre D'Hermes EdT used in place of WK AS shown in image, as the TDH was a Christmas gift from Wifey :cool: unwrapped a few minutes after this image.

    Heading off very soon for Christmas Day afternoon and dinner with Wifey's family. 2 pass DFS+ mid day shave. Everything worked near perfection. Jason's BRM handle with the TGN knot is my favorite badger brush (for both the handle and knot!), lovely face and bowl lather with Wholly Kaw's La Fougère Parfait (think Brut homage). 2 small weepers, both uneventful, closed with a light application of PAA's Star Jelly. Followed with a complete surprise from Wifey, the Terre D'Hermes Men's gift set, included body wash, after shave and EdT. Smooth and smelling awesome!

    And....short sleeve weather today in DFW! 60s climbing to low 70s mid afternoon....wow.

    No Chinese today it looks like. Jennifer is still down and I'm not sure how to improve things. Going to clean out an area where she keeps plants in the living room. Thinking it may be something environmental since two ER visits failed to see anything else. So....Chinese is postponed but that's ok. We'll just have to go twice to make up for it!!
