Christmas SOTD! After MUCH debate, I elected to choose my Gillette New #77 for today's special shave. It's been a wonderful family day today. Plus, my girls gave me this wonderful Steinhart GMT for Christmas as well. Merry Christmas to you all and happy shaves! Josh Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

Hey! I just noticed you have a shaving bowl from Asfreidaturns! How do you like it? After a few uses it breaks in pretty well. It's an amazing looking bowl on the sink. She makes them a bit taller in profile than I expected, but it looks so good that is of no significant consequence.

Gillette Aristocrat (48-51) Permasharp Super Semogue 26mm BC Mistura Arko Shave Stick Dr Sana Alcoholado Had to wait to shave until this evening as the power was out for most of the day and I like hot water and light... It was my first shave with the christmas gift aristocrat and it was a nice first attempt. It has been a minute since I used anything other than an SE and it will take me a bit to dial in technique with this razor. I wanted to see how this large brush handled face lathering a stick and it worked great. Overall, a nice comfortable shave. Enjoy your day.
Decadent December!!! December 25 Razor - Gillette New SC Deluxe (Matthew the Haunted Razor and Ghost of Christmas Past/Present/Future) Blade - (2) Soap - Stirling Hot Apple Cider Brush - 30DC Meet UP w/ TGN Grade A Silvertip Post - Alum Well, a quiet Christmas Day here with a high temperature of 70! I spent a bit of time outside but otherwise just a lazy day to take a break. Finally time to shave and I needed a head shave too so got that done. Then onto the main event with the same lineup as last night. I mentioned last night that the shave was very smooth and that was a bit of a mistake. I was judging it based on the fact it was a 2 day shave instead of a 1 day. Tonight I found out that things were not so smooth on that one day since I last shaved. Clearly the Voskhod either was a dud out of the pack or had died after that one shave. Not bad considering it's only the second Voskie that has been a dud in five years of using them. I switched blades and it was silky smooth like usual. I probably should have paid better attention last night but I made it work. For the soap - another round of Stirling Hot Apple Cider to get that Decadent holiday thing going. The 30DC meet up brush with silvertip was awesome and it was a fantastic lather that made it a slick and cushy shave. I made sure and faced the Bolton Sigil where it could be seen. Half the coolness of that handle is having the Flayed Man on it. (Sorry, if you're not a Game of Thrones fan you can ignore that). Three passes and I'm totally smooth and ready for Boxing Day! Oh wait, I'm not in Canada. Hope you all had a fantastic holiday and here's to a great final week of the decade!

Many Thanks to @Douglas Carey for this wonderful bowl. The only minor issue I have with mine is one side is lower about a half inch due to a notch along the rim so lather flows out but I like the look of the notch as it gives the bowl more of a natural look so a minor issue for me.
