I don't mind the rain so much... if it is raining like this at 6 and I can get out of dog training for the week. (outdoor class)
Eh, I wouldn't either, but one of my sump pumps is acting up, so I get to keep running out in the rain to check on it.
Bill, Iced or no? I'm going to assume you would've specified Iced Lime if you wanted it, but thought I'd double check to make sure... Justin - finished the low grit sanding last night, got out most of the imperfections... there are still a few really deep pits that I'd have to remove too much metal to make it worth it. To me, it adds a character to the blade, and it doesn't affect how it shaves. The rest of the sanding should go quicker now, it's just polishing to remove the previous grit's marks.... Once I started on it and got the initial patina off, I noticed that it looked like someone had taken it to a wire wheel on a grinder. A lot of vertical deep marks going the length of the blade from left to right. I was able to get most of them out. I can send pics tonight if you want, although I'm not sure how well they'll turn out... I need to work on my close up shots of straight razor blades...
I have spent a lot of time looking at brushes the last two days. Just thought you should know... as it is your fault. :happy102 Yeah... I haven't worked out taking good pictures of shiny things yet either. The lighting here in the apartment tanks for that and it is raining outside or dark whenever I want to take pics.
Just ran the old VDH boar and the body shop through about 10 lather cycles (soak, build lather, rinse) on an old puck of soap I can't use. The Body Shop brush can make lather, it is just a small amount of lather. The VDH can make large amounts of lather in comparison. And after the 5th or 6th lather cycle, it stopped shedding hairs (I stopped using it as a travel brush because it was shedding like crazy). Will give it a go at the next shave to see how it does for real. Matt, I have looked at the brushes you have for sale many a time, but the handles look a wee small for my hands. But then again, it may just be the pictures.
Morning HYD'ers. I used the cobra classic with a feather pro guard blade. Great shave, no cuts, no nicks, no weepers. 2+ pass shave and it was mighty fine. that's all for now.
Justin STAY AWAY from looking at brushes and straight razors, those are 2 of the most expensive AD's one can suffer from.
Mornin'! Finally got the internet back at work today, got in to no internet - kinda unsurprising considering the tornado warning last night. but nothing lost power here last night, although our tower (for the ISP) got hit, electric outlet was just plain black, surge suppressor was flattened and exploded, but we're back in shape now. I can get some [slash]work[/slash] posts done now.... same here, no posts showed the "edited by sejanus" tag last night when I skimmed for it, so I haven't the foggiest
once I finally got to shave last night, used the old faithful Krona loaded with a Feather - man, if Feathers weren't so expensive (and I didn't enjoy all the variety), that'd be the only setup I'd need......if, of course, if
Oh thats the injector you were sending my way? Thanks for trying it out, now clean it box it up properly and send it! Too late for that.
Bill if you want to try it some day, I'd be happy to send it out, although you will have to sign a waiver saying I am not liable for any damage it does to your million dollar supermodel face. And NO, I was going to send you J type but you don't seem to like them. Maybe one the others in your clan would like it though??? Do you still want it?
Jim, did you check on fleabay? there is a guy that sells them pretty cheaply I though. Have you tried the super iridiums that paul has at connaugh? some folks love them.
For some truly random greatness be sure and check out todays ONS! I almost used the caption section to say something about the shaveden. The Zuney Bin was my near inspiration.
My wife has been looking for some surf music ala Jan&Dean lately, so she inpired me to go looking, and I found something that might help you all to get your surf on this morning.
