A scentless soap given me by a friend visiting France.
It's scetless and that's why i do not use it more frequently: I like to smell what I lather!

LASS Woody Lavender today. 20 seconds to load the Elite Razor/TGN Grade A Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Schick Plus Platinum still in the vintage Gillette 40’s Style Super Speed. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Bentley Intense EdT.

This Groom soap and aftershave are made right here in Montreal and they’re both terrific - it shows even Canada can do it. The soap has a beautiful, old school barbershop scent, it lathers rich, easily, creamy, it has great slickness, and it leaves a very soothing sensation. The Bull Dog moisturizer is from the UK and it smells nice and it works really well as a balm. The Groom aftershave has that same wonderful scent as the soap and although it’s alcohol based it has no sting whatsoever. The Derby blade helped me achieve a cracker of a BBS shave!

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Cella Crema Da Barba face lathered well with Jayaruh #199 Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the Damaskeene Open Faced razor with a freshly sharpened Vintage Damaskeene SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Cella Balsamo Dopobarba. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I threw this shave together quick.

***EDIT - Got 1 nick. Not familiar just yet with the GEM. Only my 3rd shave with it. So far it seems aggressive, but that could just be my inexperience with this razor. The shave overall was good. 1-pass + 1 clean up pass. I went to my PAA Alum Block post-shave and the choice of the medicated Thayers was a good one. The Alum is making it tough to judge how BBS the shave got but it felt good right after the shave.

The Thayers Medicated has a medicinal smell that I really like and the Heeley Esprit du Tigre sample fragrance shares much of the same medicinal character in the base notes. It's a perfect match together. I really liked the shave overall. I didn't bother with any balm. Didn't want to mess with the addictive scent. It seems the medicinal scent is not something everyone cares for, but to me it's kind of addicting. I like it. That's why I went after the Heeley Esprit du Tigre fragance sample. And now I think I will one day buy a bottle.

 

Strangelove
This is an excellent soap. The lather is on par with more famous brands, and the scent is well done. I'm still unable to pull out all the notes, but I do enjoy it. I paired it with reserve lavender and it works nicely. The Model T provided another amazing combination of smooth and efficient. Not even a hint of irritation, let alone weepers. This razor just glides so well that it is very easy to use no pressure.
