ahh, good points on the Verizon/Alltel affair

as only a recent signer-upper with Alltel (just slightly before the buyout), I wasn't with them long enough to know any difference either way - no matter how it's sliced, though, it's been a heck of a lot better than Sprint has been around here the past few years, I've had voicemails show up weeks later!

Yes, I did! Smells nice (like something leather should) and looks great. I can't wait to use it.

    Morning everyone.

Bong, The pella injector blade worked great this morning. I think my problem the 1st time was user error and nothing to do with teh blade.

Is his grandmother in the hospital the reason he has been MIA here?

Anything special planned for end of the school year?

Getting ready to give mine a try with a different blade.

My face really like the injector and it was fast this morning. Had a couple of weepers but no biggie.

Experiment 1: going back to boar: I got decent enough lather with the VDH boar. However, I get much better with my re-knotted badger. I will wait to see how Matt rates the 1305 after it has been used a few times before ordering a 2000 or 1305 Semogue.

Experiment 2: The injector: Well I have tried the injector. This blade actually cut hair! Three passes and no weepers; however, just DFS. It was a comfortable shave and I might go grab that bag at an antique store I saw with the two injectors in it.

I guess I was a bit disappointed after reading claims of BBS in two passes. I have to remember that I never get that type of result. I can get BBS most days with 3 passes with an aggressive DE combo. But my beard is wiry, wears blades down fast, and just doesn't get the results others do. I also need to remember this with my straight shaving journey. Based on all of my shaving experience, I can't expect BBS results in the same number of passes as the rest of you.

Experiment 3: I can blame Shep for this one. I have about 1/4 sample bottle left of regular Subzero and another 1/4 sample bottle left of Vetiver. I was just re-reading Shep's discussion of the Iced Vetiver. I was trying to decide whether to order a full bottle of Vetiver or a sample of Iced Vetiver first. Hmmmmm..... I now have a 1/2 sample bottle of Subzero Vetiver. Ooooh! I like this! I know what I am putting on my next order!

I'm learning that my beard too is wiry and that if I push for BBS on my jaw and below, I pay for it with irritation that looks worse than the feel makes up for.

That sounds about where I was a few months ago. I don't push for BBS, but with improved technique and better pairing of blades and razors to my face/beard I now get BBS more and more often and without irritation. Of course after playing with straights, I am back to getting more irritation on a DE shave. Interesting....

    I am evolving :)
I can see that happening too. Using advanced techniques down there is helping me too.

Good to hear the injector worked this time Kev.

I rarely get BBS under the chin, there are always a few stragglers that refuse to get cut. Too much work, and too high a probability of nicks or irritation.
