Good afternoon on this fine firts day of 2020!
Watched the ball drop with the oldest grandson, he stayed the night. Got up late, cooked some eggs and ham for a late breakfast. Read a few post, got my razor de jure ready.
    Then the phone rang....
Trouble at work, me and the oldest threw on some street clothes and took off.
All fixed up nice and off toward home. Stopped at a store we get chocolate milk, coffee, and other stuff. Got up to head to the car after he finished his muffin and.
    Then the phone rang....
The Dad is sick, needs me to watch the other two while he gets better, their mom and my wife is out of town till evening. Got their stuff, in the car, home.
Now it's been over 4 hours since I collected my shave stuff for the day, undeterred, I got them changed, set in the play area, the living room. Got a bowl, put my things in it.
Water, a small mirror and a place where I could keep my good eye on the crew is all I needed. Once found and ready, off I shaved.

A 2 pass shave on the face with some clean up, 2 passes on the gord with minimal clean up. Nice, clean and smooth, better than average, no issues none. I used a thin coating of the Stirling to wash before lathering up. The Merkur 37 slant didn't let me down, Stirling Barbershop always good on the nose!

The 37 is a great razor when handeld properly, ride the cap, get a great shave.
A little heave for the head, but works great once you get a feel for it.

We are listening to 50's music, chilling for the day, hope you can too!

    All
    Enjoy!

Wonderful shave, Terry! I am not doing a Stirling order in the near future, but I always wondered about the Barbershop scent.

Believe me,finding additional soap brands to try won’t be a challenge with this group of ‘helpers’/enablers.
Keep using those soaps, even if it goes beyond the month. We want to se how long you can go, Jim!
A no focus Focus is pretty common on here, Joe!
Way to start us off in style, Keith. Is that brush new? I don’t recognize it.
That looks awesome. Do the flowers add much for flavour, or are they more for visuals?
    I await. Oh, the suspense...
Looking forward to seeing your PAA collection, Jim! Awesome pic today.
Awesome combo, Mark. The brush is just a stunner.
That soap won’t last long at that rate. I’m not surprised you want to use it up quickly, Joseph.
A great looking start to the month, Jeff.
Ah, the Meatgrinder! It took me quite some to get it dialed in...almost negative pressure was needed. It looks so docile, too.
Quite the soap art! Looking forward to your focus for sure.
Randy! Great to hear from you. I started on here only a month or two before you...does that make me an older dog?
    Hi Rooster. Josey Wales here.
The soap sounds fantastic, Blair. Love the pic, as usual!
Congrats on the new soap, Clint! Did more product make it home from Arizona/WSP as well?
I gave my Techs a good run last month as well, Tommy, and wasn’t disappointed.

Thank you Joe. The menthol was pleasant. I am happy my wife bought me the gift. However, it is not a cream I would go out an buy for myself.

And now Crowne&Crane has sent me a discount deal....lasts longer than that of Central Texas Soaps. I forgot I signed on to their newsletter(CC). Gonna have to take a lot of time to "do the math" with both.

I'll be curious to see how much my PAA collection grows this month after seeing the goodies the other fellas trot out.

This will be my new phrase for when things go sideways. It's replacing Terry Pratchett's, "Thunder rolled. It rolled a six."

  20. Hembree

    Hembree Not as pretty smelling

First shave of the year and first shave with the new Vulcano shaving soap. I really enjoy the peppery smell of the soap and it just explodes when whipped up. Pepper is not the only scent and it has some very nice undertones. I wish I could describe it better but it just smells awesome! A little goes a long way and it is a thirsty soap. Loaded lightly on the Razorock synthetic and had more than enough for a three pass shave. The capsicum seed fragrance is very nice and does not carry over to a hot feeling shave. It has excellent glide and cushion. The ATT Kronos with R2 plate and a Feather took care of business. Alum was just noticable. I may do a short focus with this combo for the rest of the week.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
