Very interesting razor Terry! Understand the trepidation using a slant....one small side movement equals ouch. I've had that issue on my neck once with a straight....that's a no-repeat mistake! Not only because of the mess, healing process and scar...but for the arms crossed dead vulture 'really!?!' look from wifey.

First shave of the Jeeves focus and also the first shave with the full scalloped bottom plate for this Occam’s DE. I love the Jeeves lathers and this one was no exception; hadn’t used this soap in a few months, but it didn’t matter.
I had a nice 3 pass shave which left me quite smooth, a little left on my lower neck if I was being picky. On first use, I think this plate is a little smoother than the partial scalloped plate. I’ll keep playing with it.
    Have a great day all!

Thank you, Jim and Joe! Wilson did a terrific job with his shots. He got to pick out a little toy afterwards and then we let him choose where to go to lunch. Thankfully he chose Saigon Noodle House, which is a phenomenal Vietnamese restaurant. He gets charbroiled pork and rice on the kids menu. We walked in and he told our server that he had three shots at the doctor and she went in the back and brought him a t-shirt!

Another wonderful shave! The Feather clear shave gel did not do well with the brush, but the PAA preshave Cube soap face lathered very nicely with my Jayaruh Custom Boar. I have decided to let part of my beard grow back in, and the clear gel helped in allowing me to cut the appropriate lines in. In any case another two pass BBS with this great shaving tool left me feeling smooth, clean and refreshed.

    RAZOR: Seki AS-D2
    BLADE: Feather
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by PAA’s Cube Preshave Soap
    BRUSH: Jayaruh Custom Boar
    CREAM: Feather Hishave Moist Gel
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Old Spice Fresh Lime

What a Kami, Blair! I think you’re right about the scents in different bases. B&M offers different bases obviously, but doesn’t necessarily offer many scents in those multiple bases.
Very nice, Jim! I see you are using PAA hardware during your focus as well.
Sorry about the weather, Perry, and about the trip to the Doc.
The good news is the boosters just aren’t the same. The one in my arm looks like someone pressed a hot dime into my skin. My kids? No marks. Amazing what 40 years of advancements resulted in...:happy102:
Very nice, Adam. I’m not a Straight razor guy, obviously, as I’m not sure what you mean by ‘crisp’.
Very nice, Clint. Glad to hear you’re already feeling better.
Love those Blues, Gary. Sorry about the rain, but I guess that is why it is so green there!
Love the Lemon drop, Mark! Are those earlier a Synthetic knots the same?
Sounds like a very productive focus, Terry. I doubt you will need a full rule to get it dialed in.

I'm a bit late, but happy new year, gents!
I've been quite busy, but i'm trying to find some time to spend over here as well.
DSC_0931.JPG I got my ball end tech (D2) today, so i had to give it a go. It felt a lot better to me than the british one i have, which is a lot lighter. I've been trying to use up the can of foam, even though it works well for me, i'm not a fan of the scent. I like the regular version much better, but i'm just too cheap to toss this one.

The shave was actually really good, no problems at all. I think i'll spend this month with the tech, i want to get really familiar with it. I'll try to finish the can too.

    Have a great day!

With all the PAA stuff floating around I called an audible on the aftershave choice today and tried a sample of PAA Dixie.

    upload_2020-1-2_13-1-57.jpeg

Smelled like my great aunt Marge at the beauty parlor with all of her bridge club. Wow....not good.

Dixie was a collaboration scent between Soap Commander and PAA for a Dirty South Shavers meet-up several years ago. Here is the original description on the PAA website:

PART 1 in our Roswell Trilogy

When I was asked to do the Aftershave for the DSSMU I was a little flabbergasted...how does one capture the spirit of the South (and then bottle it)? What comes to mind? As an outsider I may have had a bit more insight traveling through with a "clean palette".

I immediately noticed the heavy, almost clumsy Spanish Moss and the ever blooming, sweet kudzu. Then the shining star, Magnolia! But...being held in Huntsville, home of Space Camp, I needed a science fiction element, something ozone.

So I began blending. What I ended up with was a very mysterious, infectious, syrup of the South and stew of the stars. A Classic, Futuristic, Masculine, Victorian Era Scent...for the intergalactic Southern Gent!

    Scent Profile

Top Notes: Magnolia, Kudzu, Camellia, Sage, Corn Flower
Heart Notes: Spanish Moss, Green Tobacco
Base Notes: Oakmoss, Bay, Tobacco Absolute

Contained within you will find Deer's Tongue and Spanish Moss Hydrosol, Liquid Silk, Hedione, Aloe, Carrot Extract and Camellia Oil! What you get is a highly long lasting aftershave/cologne with a most excellent post shave feel...Out Of This World!

Out of this world for me!

Thanks, Perry. This is actually an old teak dresser that my wife’s grandfather made for her when she was a young girl. It resides in our walk in now, but sits right under the window and is a decent way to get some natural light in a pic once in a while.
