It’s a clear gel that is not brush-friendly, but is really moisturizing.

I decided to skip both "discount deals" just mailed to me-(from Central Texas Soaps, and Crowne&Crane). Having "done the math", the CTS looked like the better deal, but I figured I don't need a third soap right now-I have one in mind, but it's more of a "spring/summer" soap. Hopefully, I get a lot of work out of my other two by then(course I don't expect to FINISH either). Besides, I need to put in my Stoylin Tony Awards winner order very soon, both of which I certainly can use now.

It was a little too heavy on the gunpowder for my taste.

I agree, Blair! It is definitely shaveable. Generates a decent lather!

Astra Planeta is up for tomorrow. Like it but don't love it.

Cavendish is in the love it category for me although it may be on the sweet side for you.

I don't have the other two you listed.
Oh, and I really like Boomtown Bay Rum.

Oh ok.....that helps me actually-the next one I want -Home On The Range-apparently is ALL gunpowder. I say "apparently" because I sense other manly scents are sort of "scattered around". I was hoping Smitty would be a little more clear on describing it than he was.

Big big fan of Atmotic & Cavendish (almost a dupe of Stirling's Haverford, but isn't). Will repurchase both....but maybe not Cavendish if the newly re-established Jeeves Tobacco Bay Rum is better (still trying to order something since they first posted :sport026:). Never had samples of Tombstone or Astra Planeta.

    Really cool shave Andrew!

    Nice image and choices Evan!

    Ooh. Very Purdy! Nice trade!

If the new Jeeves Tobacco Bay Leaf hasn't changed it's quite different than Cavendish. Worth having them both around in my opinion.

Gonna be a loooong time before I finish the Bay Rum soap(Jeeves)that Adam kindly PIFed me. I wonder what the "new" Jeeves setup will look like by then.

Jan 2 shave: The first safety razor shave of the year so I went with my 2011 R41 loaded with an Iridium Super. This combo always performs for me and delivered an excellent shave.

Jan 3rd shave: Another first, this is a new arrival from Snail Forge. She is an 8/8 Wootz steel blade with a half hollow grind. She came with a fantastic edge, smooth as velvet and sharp as a laser. An epic shave for it's maiden voyage. The scales are mammoth tusk and the picture does not do it justice.
