Yes, I know I’m not using a DE blade or shaving soap or cream. I have all of those. When I decided to try wet shaving, I really went wild to start with, buying 3 different DE razors (Schick Krona, Gillette Super Speed and an Assured from Dollar Tree) and several different blades and creams (Proraso, TOBS, Arko, and Captains Choice) and brushes (synthetic, badger and boar). The nice thing about this 30-day experiment is that I don’t have to worry about what cream or soap or brush or blade to use. I am coming to the conclusion that less might be more!

I actually started my wet shaving journey with a cartridge (the Mach3). I needed to start somewhere; I was done with the poor quality shaves I was getting from my electric. Once I got the DEs I gave them a shot but I did not have a lot of success with it. I am sure that it was due to technique. I was cutting myself quite a bit and my wife really was getting on me because I am a manager at my work and she was concerned that a lot of nicks and cuts would make me look unprofessional. That hit home with me. I also realized that I had received a better shave with a cartridge. As people are fond of saying in these forums, YMMV. It just seemed to work better for me. So that’s what I’ve decided to use for now. I did get a Gillette Guard and a Schick Xtreme 4 to see how I could manage with a single blade cartridge and a different type of multi blade cartridge. I may go for a Bic Flex 2 or an Atra just to see what a double blade is like. I may hold on to one of my DEs (the Super Speed) and may try it again down the road once I have my technique down. I am willing to PIF the others if anyone is interested as I find the Krona too mild and the Assured too aggressive.

As for the Barbasol, like I said, I have 5 other soaps/creams/croaps. I love the Proraso, like the TOBS and the Arko, but the Captains Choice...eh, not so much. After reading the posts about the Barbasol Brotherhood on this forum, I figured I would give it a shot too. It’s far cheaper and easily available. I had to get other soaps/creams/croaps via mail order and I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a cheapskate. If there’s something less expensive that I can go pick up literally right around the corner from my house, why not? And I really enjoyed using it today, so I may stick with it. I like the idea of mixing it with some of the other creams so I may tinker with that after the 30-day experiment is up.

Onward and forward into 2020! Pretty much a repeat of last night with the exception of the brush. I chose the Semogue 1305 boar to give the Soap Commander a good workout. This brush is starting to soften up and break in nicely! It's definitely a good brush and I'm glad I was enabled to get one. Three passes and the baby is in the house again with no problems at all. So far so good on this year's shaves!

very cool.thats what its all about here.dialing in what you like.i used bics, atras and mach 3 for 35+ years .i got close shaves with them ,but the pulling hair action of the multi blades below the skin gave me ingrown hairs all the time.i decided de was my way.zero problems once i got used to them and improved my technique.enjoy your ride..cart razors work for many people.:)

I have both the Supply V2 and the Enoch. While they might appear to be very similar they are actually very different. The Supply Co uses an injector blade while the Enoch uses an Artist Club blade. The Supply Co with a Schick Proline blade the shaves are very similar. The biggest difference is the Supply Co has a very narrow sweet spot and requires more attention to get the same result. The Enoch has a wider sweet spot with regular blades. Plus you can up the blade feel and aggressiveness by going with a Feather Pro Super Blade. The downside is the width of the blade. Now the Supply Co SE in stainless has a better finish but it costs more. Hope this helps.
