Razor - 1959 (E4) [Birth Year] Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed
    Blade - voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg (1)
    Soap - Soap Commander Courage
    Brush - Semogue 620
    Post - Alum

So, the weather guys predicted some light snow for today. I'm happy to report they were as accurate as always as I didn't see even one flake. It was in the 30's, so a bit chilly but nary a flake to be had. I'm definitely not complaining. Home and ready to get the shave on and I switched over to another birth year razor, my flare tip super speed. In my mind, this is the quintessential Gillette razor. I think they sold more of these than any other razor and it's the first razor I can recall seeing as a younger version of myself. It's a mild razor but does a fine, fine job of shaving, especially when paired with a blade like the Voskhod. I got out the Semogue 620 boar brush today to continue beating up on the Soap Commander and made fantastic and huge amounts of lather. Totally slick and cushy, and three passes of shaving had me down to baby butt smooth and happy for the night. Great way to finish the day! Hope you enjoy your Sunday!!

I still prefer Texas steakhouses. The Big Texan in Amarillo was always a favorite. Home of the 72 ounce steak dinner. 6 pounds of steak and all the trimmings, and if you can eat it all within an hour it's free!

At least you were spared the tragedy of attending high school during the height of Axe body spray popularity. The worst I ever had to deal with was people hosing themselves down with Polo, Tommy Hilfiger and British Sterling.

Nah. The humble Tech way outnumbers the super speeds. But 2nd place goes to the superspeeds.

When I make the TX trip. Franklin BBQ in Austin will be the destination.

I've made some good briskets. Difficult cooks to keep moist. Franklin does a wrap in pink butchers paper near the end, I figure I'll try that one day.

The main thing is the heat source. 100% burning wood /clean fire.

I'm not big on brisket, but my youngest says I make the best... of course she has never been to Austin.

I'm liking that Soap Commander the more I look into it. Sounds like a great shave :D

You keep talking about ribs. Neither KC or the Lou can do beef ribs, so Texas has us both beat there.

Gah! I used to coach the girl's soccer team at the school I teach at. The boys always got to the bus first, and each one would blast that stuff on--15 boys. By the time we got to the bus, you could literally see a cloud of the stuff floating around; you could taste the Axe in the air. It might actually smell good for all I know, but nothing smells good when it's piled on to such excesses.

Even now, 15 years later, I feel like I need to brush my teeth just thinking about it.

Thanks Clint! It's rare that I simultaneously do a head and face shave, let alone do a head shave review.

I definitely prefer pork ribs to beef. Hands down. In fact, when I say ribs I don't even think of beef ribs.

True that. I never saw a Tech, though, until I started into this five years ago.
