Thanks Tim! You can't go wrong with a Creed Aventus dup. Just as an FYI, Monster Zero Ultra pairs well with Executive Man.

Thank you, Tim. I have used a shavette or a straight razor to headshave, but it is a rare event. It does take a great amount of skill as well as cojones to do it. However, I usually have to cleanup with a safety to get BBS all around.

Very nice, Tim! I like the Christmas Eve scent very much that I would use it year round. Yes, even in the summer on a rare cool day.

That's true, Evan! I feel that I can use any soap any time of year. Now, if I am going to the beach or a park, then I wouldn't want to attract stinging insects when using heavy or sweet scents.

I wish. We did Arches last summer and loved it; I'll hike The Narrows in Zion one day (or die trying).

The pics are actually Painted Canyon in Mecca Hills near Palm Springs, CA. It's not southern Utah, but it was still beautiful. ;)

    Razor - 1959 (E4) [Birth Year] Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed/Merkur 23c
    Blade - [IMG] (2) astra-superior-platinum.jpg (2)
    Soap - Soap Commander Courage
Brush - Omega Pro 48/VDH Boar
    Post - Alum

It's Sunday night which means a head shave is in order along with the normal routine. I used the Merkur 23c razor with Astra SP blade as usual, along with the VDH boar brush for the head shave. I also used the Soap Commander for both shaves tonight. Very nice to upgrade from VDH soap to something better. Probably should have done that for Decadent December! I only have one or two shaves left on the VDH anyway, and since I'm trying to use up the Soap Commander I figured why not. For the main event it was day two on the Super Speed and Voskhod and I went with the Omega Pro 48 brush. Yeah, that thing holds a ton of lather and covers a ton of face real estate! Very smooth on both head and face shaves with no worries or blood from either one. Great finish to both and I'm as slick as a cue ball from head to neck. Just the way I like it.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! May your Monday be peaceful and easy!

Arches, Canyonlands, Zions, and Bryce are all somewhat close to each other. Still a drive in between. I prefer Canyonlands to the Narrows but I've always liked a view more than a confined canyon.

Sunday shave: Broke out the scuttle and tea kettle, today is the reference for my hot lather test, Queen Charlotte Soaps. Wow, that is some hot lather on the first pass. Despite the bubble and watery look the lather returned to it's normal consistency once it was applied to my face. The heat did not damage any of the soaps properties, slick and wet.

Second shave with my Snail Forge Wootz razor. I am a four pass shaves to that makes 8 passes and the edge is wickedly sharp. A very close shave again but a tickle from the alum.
