Interesting. Please let us know if you find out anything from Byron.

Yeah, he was certainly not following the vendor protocol. Glad he never followed through with sending me that invoice.

Man! you really can be a trouble maker when you want to be. ;) I wonder if I can identify a certain hair salon and pressure them to remove the gun magazines from the waiting room.

Yes, I think. Do you mean the only way to get BBS is to go ATG? My beard is quite coarse and ATG is the only way I can get BBS at all. Have you tried lifting the skin above your jaw line? Skin stretching is probably the answer. :) Is that Mach3 the one Gillette sent you when you turned 18? I just stopped using my original Mach3 last year. The other question you've probably already answered is, "Have you tried a DE?" If not you should. You won't get as good results at first, but eventually a DE will outperform the Mach3.

Is that a hot button topic? It was 20 years ago, but revolvers have been generally relegated to the realm of enthusiasts. As a competitive handgun match director I got a lot of complaints from revolver shooters that my stages weren't revolver friendly. My answer was usually, don't shoot a revolver.

Activator followed by 3 disappearing targets requiring 2 rounds each... 7 shots with no time to reload. Great times.

I'll walk away now as I realized I'm making fun of enthusiasts in a shaving forum...

    SOTD January 6th
    No Pic- Busy Monday Morning

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    RazoRock GC Jaws .84
    Zorrik Super Platinum (2)
Grizzly Bay Doomsday (26mm Fanchurian V3, Frigate Class)
    Stirling Autumn Glory soap
    Myrsol Limon AS

I'm going to titanic this sample of Stirling Autumn Glory. A nice heavy load with the Doomsday brush brought me a bowl full of super goop lather. The Zorrik may be a cheap blade from India but it worked really well for me this morning (much better then the Laser Ultra). I found that with the Jaws longer strokes were more comfortable for me then shorter buffing strokes. Ill have to test this theory out with some other razors and blades. Three passes brought home the baby with ease. I finished off with a generous splash of Myrsol Limon for a nice hit of menthol and a bright burst of lemon. Have a great day my friends!

    Prayers for your daughter.

Love the razor brush combo, they are meant for each other.

That razor delivers epic shaves but requires the same level of attention as straight or she bites.

I am the same, love menthol for AS and soaps, but heavy methanol soaps and straights do not mix for me. I need to feel the edge.

On my neck and chin. For me beard reduction works best and I do four passes, WTG XTG, XTG opposite direction and finally ATG. This method allowed me to get BBS without irritation. The key is light pressure and don’t shave unlathered areas.

I used to speak pretty good Spanish but it seems the Korean has over written it. Now when I try to speak Spanish it comes out as a mix of Spanish and Korean.

Woke up a little early so I had time for another hot lather test. Today's entrant is AoS cream, this cream is a top performer for me so I went into the test with high hopes. The performance was acceptable but definitely it degreased from it's normal performance. It was very bubbly and wet but when it went on my face it was too thick. Then I added too much water and it was too runny. Then it dried out in the hot scuttle and was too thick again.

Today's razor is big, heavy Silverloaf, 8/8 with a 3/4 grind. I ended up with a nice shave but I have to say compared to my other artisan blades I can't get this blade quite as sharp and it does not hold it the edge as long as others. Do not get me wrong, the steel is good and I get some very nice shaves from this razor. Today's shave was excellent.
