Thanks Joe....the Whiskey didn't get to me as much today as yesterday. My face must be used to it, then :).

The photos, as always are stunning, and that filter is a fine effect. Boardwalk Barbershop sounds wonderful, btw--great description of the scent!

I really like some of Dean's songs, but to me he sounds a bit drinky-poo singing That's Amore. ("Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime" and "Houston" arEdite my favs of his). Y'know, I wonder if he WAS a "man of clubs" in the personal hygiene persuasion_

It's funny. I haven't needed to buy a bodywash for years--seems like I always have a sample of shave soap that no longer makes the cut, and those go in the shower with me instead ;)

Oh, and you just scrape the soap with your washcloth? I mean, shavesoap's pretty hard to administer, I would think.

Paul, he played to his public image as an alcoholic. In reality, Dean was not a heavy drinker. Sinatra was a real boozer.

Not surprised to hear that about Frank. That "Rat Pack" was something else. I once saw Sammy Davis Jr. smoke a cigarette throughout a song!!

Came incredibly close to pulling the trigger on Satsuma a couple of times--the scent description sounds incredible. Only thing holding me back is the spices; my better half does not care for people wearing edible scents (I tried Bay Rum, and the spices reminded her too much of baking). Ironically, she does not consider citrus scents as "edibles"... go figure

It’s Fatboy Wool Fat Friday. Broke out my 1960 Fatboy (datecode F1) and whipped up my favorite soap, MWF, and proceeded to have a decent shave. Not really a fan of this razor. Cranked it up to 9, while protected by a glistening, thick Fat lather supplemented and enhanced by PAA’s Preshave Cube for that first pass. The razor delivered a decent whisker reduction, but still needed two more passes for an acceptably close shave. Cranked down to 7 for the final two passes leaving me with one or two areas in my typical trouble spots which weren’t as close as I’d like, but I know from experience with this razor that I should stop to avoid any bloodletting. This razor is typically a one and done. Tomorrow I’ll shave with the Occam’s DE razor, originally purchased as a Christmas present for one of my sons, who as it turns out is in love with his OneBlade. So I kept it after reading all the positive reviews. Today I feel clean, somewhat smooth and refreshed, and that’s the story for Friday, and I’m sticking to it!

    RAZOR: Gillette Fatboy (9,7,7)
    BLADE: Suneko
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap
    BRUSH: Omega Pro48 Boar
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Royall Lyme AS Splash

Get Stephan Bay Rum.....not much baking in that one. Everything is neatly blended together.

Everything worked as it should this morning. The brush is pretty scritchy, but is nowhere near broken in yet. No stink, though. I’m quite smooth after 3 passes, a very pleasant start to the day.
    Have a great day all!

It would be. I keep all my shave soaps in recycled deodorant sticks. It saves space in my cabinet, makes them easy to take on the road, and application in the shower is significantly simplified: apply to body, then work lather with the cloth ;)

Satsuma is a nice sweet citrus scent. I believe you and your wife may like it very much. My advice is to buy the sample and if it bodes well for you, then get the full jar.

Well, in doing so you're way ahead of me, by about....oh, just south of 100 years :). I like how Doc Ezlovan's bodywashes are set up similar to the Men's Bodywashes I use.
