I hade a nice comfortable relaxing shave with the Hydro-Magic today. Loaded up a new Chick blade lathered up some Cella with the SHD two band and enjoyed the easy smooth shaving.

    Proraso Sandalwood
    Jayaruh #326
    Russian SHaDE
    Personna Half DE
    CWR
    Florida Water

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Proraso Sandalwood face lathered well with Jayaruh #326 Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the Russian SHaDE razor with a Personna Half blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Second Shave in with the Enoch, why are those blade retaining lugs so short ? If they had been a tad more pronounced , loading would have been easier and the rinsing of the Razor too, as currently if one slackens off the handle to rinse it the blade can easily be dislodged from position. I had too adjust the blade position prior to this mornings Shave.

However , once the blade is positioned correctly the Shave itself is rather good with a nice close Shave being attained without any problems.

Good news on me and my broken leg. After further X Rays the consultant says I can walk with a boot/stick for 5/6 weeks , and try driving in 6 weeks time. Do not have to wear boot 24/7, off when leg elevated in recliner and supported, nor in bed which is the real bonus.

Last comparison shave and double check to confirm this razor and the same style E2 are in fact the same razors just with different color handles, which they are as seen in the picture below.

Shave to recap is mild but efficient, not a BBS finish but would be a socially and workplace acceptable closeness for shave.

It's been a long time since I shaved my head.

I used 4 razors total today between shaving my head and my regular shave. I started things off with a 5th use Gem SS blade but switched it out for a new one about half way through. The Gem bumpless MMOC, Gem CP, TNNSER 3D and Henckels Rapide all plaid a part in a great shave. Mer Shavings Mysore Sandalwood on SHD two band badger provided a great lather with plenty to spare.

Here I am about half way through the first pass with the Henckels Rapide.

I didn't bother to trim my hair before the shave. I can say that the Clog-proof isn't quite clog-proof. But the Rapid handled things surprisingly well although i did have to rinse frequently it rinsed out very easily.

The other three razors handled the rest of the shave pretty equally. And here is the end result. A very close comfortable shave. Except of course for my beard witch I don't plan on ever shaving.

My first stand up Shave for 11 days since breaking my leg. Interesting that after 2days using The Occams Enoch I am using the Hiram Commander. which for me is much easier to load than the Enoch. Those who are put off by the handle on the Oren may enjoy this one, which feels good in the hand and does not slip doing a Shave.

On the factory fitted No 2 plate , the Razor was very smooth and delivered a good finish but not as close as that with The Enoch. I could of course try it with a No3 plate from the Oren which is my plate of choice. For me the downside of this Razor is that like the Oren due to the head shape I cannot clear properly the whiskers around the nostrils, The Enoch works splendidly in this area.

Hi everybody! It's been a while since I've dropped by. Work and life sometimes get in the way of me getting on TSD but they haven't been getting in the way of great shaves. I'm still in the groove with the I2 that @Bird Lives turned me on to several years ago now. Here's my SOTD for today.

SOTD, Sat Jan 11th-2020- I sure enjoy my Gem razors and chose my Push button Gem out of the wooden Gem rack for todays shave.
The Push button is one of the most attractive razors with the Gold and black combined that Gem MFG IMO. It is sort of a milder mid range Gem but with a 3 pass shave you can obtain excellent shaves that are hard to beat by any razor IMO. Had a excellent shave.

Razor : Gem Push button - MFG 1958-65
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (7)
Soap : Razorock Irish County side -excellent lather properties mild scent that is nice.
Brush : Yaqi Rainbow 28 mm Brown whiskers
Preshave: Brush(Yaqi Casmire) wash my face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area
Prep : cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave : Razorock Emperor aftershave with witch Hazel + Nivea balm.
    Results : CCS,DFS,BBs + minor irritation + 1 blemish weeper = [IMG]
